Title: Flew through the hangar club
Post by: bloom25 on April 09, 2000, 03:07:00 AM
I propose we start a new club here at AH.  Qualifications are that you flew through the double hangars at a base.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

I'll be the charter member, and I have attached a film proving my accomplishment.  (Note:  I actually tried to go through twice, but didn't quite make it on the second pass.  You can see it on the film.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
)

If anyone can fly through the double hangars inverted, now that would be impressive!  I crashed both times I tried.

Flying through the hangar is, was and will forever be old hat.

Do it inverted.. then you are in the club.

Inverted in a b17?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)  (Does a b17 even fit through the door?)

Well I guess I'll warm the 202 back up for another try.

In my day, we had to be inverted, backwards, deadstick.

Your wish is my command.  I just filmed two flights of me going through the hangar offline.  The first has me going right-side up through two hangars that are right next to one another (in one pass).  The second film has me flying through one hangar inverted.

Now the big question is... umm... how the hell do I attach a file here?  Or link to one?  Or whatever?  I'd be happy to post it.

Do I win anything?   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Wow, I must be bored.  I just filmed me going through the hangar "row" (two hangars, one right after the other) inverted in a single pass.

As before, I'll be happy to provide a link for it when I figure out how.

Do it in combat and get your pursuer to crash while trying to follow.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Yes but the best way (and it can be done ) is to fly through the first upright then quickly roll inverted and fly through the second then back level and climb out. try it, its fun   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

We put the hangers in for this very reason! I have flown thru the large double hangers inverted, and the small double hangers regular, but the REAL trick is........ Fly thru the vehicle hangers at the vehicle spawn point........ that's fun! haven't done it inverted yet.

I've got film at home of me going through the double hangars inverted in a 109. I got too close to the ground and slid thru both of them on my canopy and survived! Pretty funky.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Yeah, but who's in the "loop through the two hangars" club?

I used to practice the following move in Offline WB mode:

Fly through 1 hangar, invert before gettting to next hangar (happens very fast) and fly through next hangar inverted, invert right way up and off to bar for a free pint.

I pulled it off once in an Zero   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

I will try in 190 and post film if i succeed.

If anyone else can please post it - it aint easy.

When you blow up the big building at an enemy HQ the roof falls part way and is then held up by 2 walls.  You can fly through it the resulting hole.

Your all grounded (except for the dirty six hour escort missions) due to lack of flight discipline.  That's right, no weekend London passes and you don't get to go on any of the Rhubarbs.

No wonder the lack in our mechanics working quality when they have to drop for cover every other minute working IN the hangars...
