basically a powered glider. Would be nice for the few of us that enjoy resupplying bases, perk it perhaps?
-
that plane was a big and slow target.......
+1 :D
-
I like the plane! A lot! But this game doesnt have a roll for this plane. If we had more of a resupply roll then maybe.

On a nice spring day over the beautiful skies of the Sicilian Strait, 27 fully laiden Me 323s were flying to resupply the Afrika Korps in North Africa when they were set upon by the bloodthirsty British and American pilots, shooting down 21 of the 27 Me 323s even before the transports got halfway to their target. That was with a heavy escort of Bf 109s from JG27.
I think the Me 323 was one of the few planes that was literally destroyed into non-existance as each produced model reportedly were all destroyed during the war and by the summer of 1944, not one remained.
It would fair no better in AH, the only saving grace is that it was known to take some punishment but without total and complete air superiority, don't expect the Me 323 to make it to town in AH.
ack-ack

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the 323, but the 52...yeah. It's dead sexy... :x

Hijack alert...
any survivors of the giant?
Btw, unless we can carry gvs, it would be useless. Lovely ride tho, along with tante ju.
-
no, none survived beyond 1944 as krusty said earlier

im for the gigant, it would be realy cool if you can carry some frindly gv, so a few gigants can suply a gv attack on a base with out a spawn.
sure you need to be sneaky but it will be fun.

I'd be for it too if it could carry a GV. There are some maps with inconvenient spawn points and this could be useful.

sounds dangerous but i dont see HTC putting it into the game sadly enough :(
-
no no no this is what germany needs in AH lol

the best Axis 4 engine bomber of the war was the Piaggio P.108B, and look how much it got used, Axis need their 2 + 3 engine bombers before we get into the specialty bombers

i already suggested that.

I don't think we need another jet.

That looks like a model
-
oh, come ON... does it not make more sense to add the Ju-52, which saw all 6 years of WWII, than the Me 323 which lost all manufactured aircraft within the first YEAR of service? sure, the 323 carried 130 troops. thats ridiculous! the C-47 carries 10! granted, IF you could SURVIVE long enough to MAKE the drop, you could capture an airfield on your own. but only If you survived.

I'd say the best Axis four engined bomber of WWII was the H8K2 "Emily" flying boat. Most of its service was as recon and anti-submarine though.

Didn't a couple of emilys bomb pearl harbor at some point?

yeah they did. May of '42. no real effective damage, and they had to re-fuel 550 miles south of Hawaii

I find it interesting that they used Gnome rotary engines on that thing (The whole engine spins with the prop). They were also the reason WW1 pilots wore long scarves because centrifugal force was used to lubricate the engine instead of an oil pump. The oil was cycled through once before ending up on the pilot's goggles.
