Title: Italian Air Force Museum - C.200

As promised in another thread, here's the pictures I took Sunday during my visit at the historical museum of Italian Air Force. I'll open different threads in this forum: for starters, here's the Macchi C.200, the predecessor of the 202 and 205 we have in game.

If you see a Fiat G.55, first drop to your knees and give it a rousing chorus of "I'm not worthy!" 3 times, then take a full set of pics (interior and exterior) for HTC.

Seriously tho - where is that museum? I have a client that runs tours to Italy as his specialty, and he is one of those guys that KNOWS EVERYBODY. I have to ask him if he knows anyone there.

It's north of Rome, on the shores of the Bracciano lake, at Vigna di Valle, a historical site for Italian aviation; here's a link to the Air Force website:

As for bribing someone and get into cockpits, I'm afraid it won't be doable! ;) Just think that the president of our flying club is a former fighter pilot and he knows a lot of people at Vigna di Valle, but couldn't get permission to visit the restauration area (although, maybe, if we go back there with fewer people... :D )

Since I'd like to have first hand info about WWII Italian aircrafts, units and men, I asked around. Looks like the real mine to dig it's not in Vigna di Valle, but in Rome, at the National Archives and Air Force HQ Archives. Sooner or later I'll make a trip there.

Oh, btw, for cockpit pictures, I have a lot of them in magazines and books, both in B/W and colours.

But three years ago I asked for some Italian skins in the appropriate forum (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,226301.0.html) and posted lots of pictures, including pictures of a P-39. I'll upload them again ASAP and link them. I got nice Spit and 109 skins from that thread, now I wouldn't mind closing the circle with 39 and (hint, hint! :D) Ju-87 skins.

I would love an Axis v Allies Desert war/Mediterranean arena that rotated out planes from about 1940 through 1943. I love those matchups, Gloster gladiators and Fiat CR42s, P40s and Me-109s, up to early P-38s and Macchis--all good fights.
