Title: Cliffs of Dover
Post by: jimson on March 17, 2011, 12:38:08 PM
I dunno, everything is a compromise.

I imagine someone who was good with AC3d or something could make a custom object that would represent the cliffs better.

This is what I've been messing around with after using some custom textures, It's already higher than I want it to be.

Don't know where I'll go with it but I'm just experimenting mostly for fun anyway.

Well I tried this in 3D Crafter, If I can find a way to get the same thing in AC3D might figure out a way to do this.

Not sure how large a custom object can be.

1 Custom object can be no bigger than 5280 x 5280 ft. That is 1 mile which is what the red grid's are in the TE.

Also a custom object may not cross over a red grid line. So if you have an object that is larger than that you will have to build it in pieces,
and place them individually in the TE.

That's what I figured, probably be too difficult to line these up and seam them into the terrain.

What mrmidi said,

It will take some time but it's possible to do.

This 5*3 miles canyon track was made back then from 1*1mile blocks.
