This is it. The end of a long and grueling effort. The last chance to push deep into enemy territory or defend against the invading forces.
The final frame of a major event like this leaves nothing on the table. No more chances, no more opportunities, no "next time". Every pilot matters, every bomb dropped counts, every plane shot down is vital to the success of either side.
This is the frame where one side will make a final push and pull it all together to secure a victory.
Walkons are welcome to participate in this event. Please visit the Battle Of Germany General Forum for writeup and schedule details. If you do walk on, please understand that this has been an ongoing event spanning 7 frames and you will get assigned a slot, but you must be patient and simply wait while the regular players get their assignments and we find out who needs extra players. You will get assigned, but if you are pushy and disruptive, you will miss out on a great event.
The arena locks at 9:30 pm Eastern US Time (Daylight Savings Time is in affect for parts of the US) and if you wish to fly, show up long before that so you have time to learn the event conditions.
Bring it on, some will arrive today knowing there are no more chances and put all they have into it, while others will wonder "why bother". That is going to decide the day.

Rumor has it ...Allies will give em hell!!!!! total destruction of the Axis targets and airforce!!!!!! Its a dam good rumor!

For those wondering how to spend their evening tonight, this is your last chance at an awesome event! At times over 400 planes have been engaged in combat, with engagements generally very even.
If you want to learn how to fight the P-51D, P-47M, Bf-109K-4, Fw-190D-9 Dora or the B-17, this is your final chance. We do have some Me-262 slots but those are already assigned to experten pilots.
See you tonight!

:salute
PS And if they all shot like 999000 it would be an accurate rumor, since they don't...bring it on!

If you want to experience what it felt like to fight a P-51D, P-47M, Bf-109K-4, Fw-190D-9 Dora or the B-17, this is your final chance by attending this reenactment of the Battle Over Germany, Tonight. We do have some Me-262 slots but those are already assigned to experten pilots.
See you tonight!

edited for better understanding of what this final frame represents :aok
saying it is the final chance to learn how to fight a "plane type" is a bit misleading
I recommend for anyone who is able to to come and experience the best thing about flight sims "Scenarios"

The past frames have been the most fun I've had in these games maybe ever. See you there.

So, I'm new to Aces High (I am still within my two week free trial) and I am quite interested in joining this battle. But I had a couple of minor questions.
The first being, Am I even eligible to participate in this frame? Considering my Trial status.
The Second; When it says walkons are welcome, I assume I can just join the proper arena when it becomes available and Join the Rooks and request placement. Correct?
Also, I understand that the Launch time will be at 9:30 eastern, But how early should I really show up? A hour before the event. Two hours? I don't mind hanging around. But I want to make sure I am there in plenty of time so as to be placed without causing any undo trouble to the Organizers of the event..
I truly appreciate your time in answering any of these questions. And I did visit the AHevents.com website. I found some good information there. I just had these few questions.
Thank you Everyone.

Launch time is actually 10:00 pm. The arena locks at 9:30 so the teams have a half hour to make sure their teams are all assigned to correct squads, orders are confirmed, details are finalized.
It would be a good idea to be in the arena 15 min to a half hour earlier so you can be brought up to speed on event conditions, general rules and such.
There is no problem with you being a trial member, that does not preclude you from attending, but I would point out that a scenario is not the training arena and is not the place to figure out how to use flaps, raise gear and such. I am sure you have already passed that stage, but it warrants being said for anyone else reading. Those in need of learning how to fly within the game will be directed to the training arena.

TC, newer pilots have never engaged in squad opps. This is one of the best ways to learn lessons about group combat. In any case, nothing like participating in a merge of 100+ planes.

Thank you kindly Roc, It is appreciated. And I fully understand your concern about knowing at least the basics of Flying. :)

Do it. This is why the main arena is just practice. If you are not already addicted, this will do it for you. If you have limited skills or not, as long as you can fly and land you are halfway there. If you want to do this to get a bunch of kills don't bother, probably not going to happen. If you want to immerse yourself and possibly feel what some of the WW2 RL pilots felt, this is for you. The best players in the game will be flying tonight. Whom would you rather observe and learn from?

It's one of the reasons I even joined the game, I enjoy the Sim aspect of the game, over the Game aspect. Of course it is a game, I know that. But I am interested in the immersion. :)
Thanks for the Encouragement!

Debris, What is your in game name?

My Callsign is Debris as well :)

Did Debris manage to get in and :airplane: enjoy the immersion?
It was a FANTASTIC event.

He was my wingman, I wanted him to get some action, so we went to A4. Took on odds of 5-1 just to fight it out!

I've been posting screenshots from each frame in the BOG Axis forum so as not to give away any Axis secrets. While I've been pleased with many of them I was particularily proud of this set from Frame 5. I tried to capture both the immersion of the event and what it was like flying with the III/JG11. So, here they are for the first time for everyone to see. I hope you enjoy them:

Thanks for taking Debris in. I had asked Cryptic to please assign him to a good group so he would get a good experience from the event instead of just trying to figure it out. I was grateful that he got hooked up with Fudgums, thank you.

Yeah, I got in and had a blast. The Scenarios are truly different then the MA and I love it. As Zoney informed me on the Forum the MA is truly just practice compared to these. It truly is a Different Beast, From the moment I signed onto the arena I was greeted by friendly people and was having a blast.
It had taken some time for me to get assigned to a Squad, Sadly I believe most of that wait was me thinking I was at the correct base, which I was but i didn't happen to be in the tower, I was in the Officer Club. So no Blame can be placed on anyone except my self. I was assigned to a nice squad flying with Fudgums and Tupac. There was also another person flying with us, in fact there were plenty more I am sure. However these were the people I winged with for the Majority of the flight.
We had spent plenty of time flying around escorting a Bomb group and chasing down suspected targets only to have one legit Enemy Contact that I personally came into range to attempt a few short bursts on... And Miss :)... It was a wonderful Time. I mentioned to Fudgums that It was the best time I ever spent flying in Open Sky and not really getting much action. I am not sure if he had taken that as my being sincere or being a little sarcastic. But I was quite Sincere. Every moment of my time spent in the air had me searching over my shoulder and looking all around for that possible contact. And for someone who is as new to this game as I am. I must admit I got turned around rather easily as to who's craft was who's. Which is fine.
Finally to wrap up the evening for myself, Fudgums and I did decide to take a peek at A4. We noticed a few craft on the field. Most likely refueling. We just underestimated our opposition a tad and engaged.. Eventually Fudgums did give the Order to retreat but by that time I had two craft on my six and he had his own troubles.
It was a 152, I believe that finally got the killing shot on me. (I haven't Reviewed my Recorded Flight yet).. So to the pilot who shot me Down. I give you a <S> for defending that base so well.
So, in conclusion. I would like to thank all the members of the community for Arranging such a event and to all the people who went above and beyond to make a new player feel welcomed. I never heard a single discouraging remark towards my self or to anyone else during the event. Which I applaud.
So, once again. Thank you, And I do believe I will keeping this Subscription going. This is a great community and a great game.

Glad you had a good time, Debris! And welcome to Aces High.

That was me, wingman was just coming off the hotpad when you guys showed up. <S> and Welcome.

That was the most fun I have had in any scenario to date.
