Title: Collision points
Post by: Rob52240 on March 20, 2011, 01:05:26 PM
I wish damage points due to someone colliding with you were given.  It doesn't seem right that when someone else collides with you, damage is done but when they other guy crashes, whoever is nearest gets the proxy kill.

I have 2 things to say, 1. I like the idea and should be added

2. Just try your best to avoid to colision, but if u do colode try to hit them with at least 1 round and u will get the kill

I usually try to avoid collisions but I must lament, I have been bingo ammo before and tried to take guys out by flying close enough to have a collision happen on their end.
Just to protect goons and M3s though.

How often does that work for you?

I don't remember colliding with someone and not getting the kill, so I think it's already implemented. If not +1

It hasn't worked yet, it's just a desperation tactic for last resort.

big -1 for this.

collisions are bad enough without incentivising ramming by giving points for it.

I'll do it to protect troops if I've got nothing else.  Otherwise it is an ahole move to do it just to be spiteful.

When I was a noob I tried ramming a flight of B-17s with a Bf 109 and learned that lesson immediately.

the collision model is meant to stop you from doing this :aok

Agreed

If you want to do it when you are bingo ammo to save the capture and/or the mission it's your choice

if the real world we call it 'taking one for the team'

makes sense though, I must lament that I don't like being collided with and I'm glad on some level that the model is meant to discourage it.

I suggest this:

If two planes collide ONLY, then both pilot see their guns jammed for 5
minutes and nothing more - also if  collision is caused by lag.

Please put down the glue bottle and slowly step away from it until you are outside, breathing fresh air again...
