Nice.

I guess there is nothing wrong with it per se but it has a fake cockpit painted on it.

When he is rolled inverted, it may fool or disorientate an enemy? It had me thinking for a good couple seconds, which is a huge amount of time in jet combat.

Its upside-down but appears its got the cockpit on the bottom? lol

Exactly they are painted on the bottom of aircraft to fool enemies in a dogfight.

Kind of like how Germans used robins egg blue to hide their planes in the sky

Is that the cockpit where they stow the sheep?

How often dose any fighter jet get into a dog fight that close like they did in WWII?
-
Ask eagl. However, I assume they are just as effective in training as in combat and since both sides use them it is probably good to train with them when doing dogfighting practices.

It's a matter of taking simple steps to give an edge at a time when every tiny little edge might make the difference between life or death. Like the A-10... Beyond about a mile range, the A-10 turning away might look like it is turning towards the enemy, leading the enemy to adjust his aimpoint for a closing shot instead of a fade-away jumper. As it has already been said in this thread, when it matters, a split second hesitation or improper reaction could be all that is necessary to determine the outcome of the fight.
