Title: HTC thanks for making this game
Post by: Ardy123 on March 22, 2011, 12:56:03 PM
No, I'm not brown nosing....

With all the stupid whines directed at HTC, I decided to thank them for making this stupidly addictive game that tends to consume a lot of my free time. I can't say that too many games suck up my time like this game, sometimes too well (not enough sleep, etc...).

Thanks for continually investing in this game and keeping it going despite being one of the very few left of this type. Despite some of its challenges, its fun and addictive.

I second that. I don't have a lot of time to play but love it when I can. BoG was great. I get to live my childhood dreams without having to worry about jagged flying steel.

The models are great. I'd pay more for more (remember that, HTC - for if you build it, they will buy) - and that you are capacity-limited is, in a way, a pretty good problem to have.

I think the worst thing HTC ever did was attribute the 'off hours' arena to Snailman. Now, everyone is pushing their ideas in attempt to have them implemented.

Wish more people would just relax, enjoy the game and leave their suggestions in the Wishlist.

The modeling is what impresses me. Way, way back in time, I took a graduate level computer graphics class (Fortran 77, wireframe, hidden line removal algorithms, hand cranked CPUs.) It blows my mind to think about the modelling, in real time, of bullets' ballistic trajectories intersecting a spot on an aircraft.

I agree with the original poster.

After years at air warrior, warbirds, and the "stolen sim", I am loving this place.

I am kind of saddened that 99% of the arena fly only late war speed demons and I cheer when nishiz (sp?) lands a 5 kill sortie in a zero.

I would like to thank HTC for giving me a place to fly with a group of silly P38 pilots who make my day better. And for having a great community of people with various backgrounds and experiences. I think what makes AH stands out is that there is a small community of people who share their knowledge and experiences with others.

Don't forget the rest of the staff guys.  It's got to be a major team effort to put out a product that is not only this addictive but inspires tons of volunteers to put time into scenarios, events, skins, maps, etc..

But I will say a heart felt thanks to Hitech, Pyro, Rosie, Superfly, Waffle, Skuzzy, and Sudz, for making and maintaining the game that we all enjoy.

HTC,
Thanks for adding the best plane in the whole war.

The 109?

Also, big thanks to everyone, especially Rosie who was nice enough to extend my payment time while I was between jobs.
(Great way to keep someone an addict)

Thank you HiTech, I love playing here.

I however, unlike may of YOU PEOPLE who play here, am not addicted to this.  I can quit anytime I want.  And I have too, like when I am going to sleep, or my wife is yelling at me to do chores.  I quit alot.  Then I choose to return, to grace the rest of you heathens with my presence.

Hitech said it wasn't this way at the time, I don't know what the exact quote was, but yeah I know what you mean that people 'perceive' it that way and think if they stamp their feet hard enough they'll get their own way.

I was actually ridiculed
That wasnt ridicule but bait good enough that you bit.  The principle behind your sig is what it played on.  An old trick in the smack talk book.

Curious why you think so?  As opposed to eg bomber destroyer or heavy fighter?

Because I am an avid P38 noob (that dies a lot) who thoroughly believes nothing can outmatch the P38's dogfighting prowess (and damage model). In this respect, all Luft planes are good for nothing more than ground pounding and augering. :)

If my jumping at a chance to duel constitutes "biting", I'll go ahead and let you know...  no smelly bait or smack talk is required....  win, lose or draw......   I LOVE a good fight.  I especially love taking down BnZers attempting to bounce on my lil TnB paper plane.   :aok    I also LOVE a challenge, which is something this game is definantly offering me now.

Up until yesterday my sig just had the plane choice quote which is what is was referring you to.

I love this game too.  But what's love got to do with it?  I just want to see HTC keep this party going.  :rock If you haven't noticed some of us are passing on, some of us are moving on.

Was at a conference once near Reading, Pa.  The speaker noted, "Down the road is the Reading Railroad Co.  They were once on top of the world.  King of the railroads.  What happened?  They defined themselves as a Railroad company, instead of a transportation company.  The Wright brothers came along, and the rest is history."

I agree that no one should have the gall to think they could have done a better job at what HTC is doing.  I do think that listening to what your customer base has to say is important.  I feel a beta coming on (hint).

Pay someone $15 to shine your shoes, you will get a nice looking shine.  Charge someone $15 to shine your shoes, they will tell you to get a new pair of shoes.  Every once in awhile, a new pair of shoes might give you better wear and comfort.  Of course they have to be broken in.

Guess you told me.....  I don't know what you told me, but I am humbled by your mastery of baiting.  Until our next good fight....  ~S~

I don't think being jumped in a separate fight by the best turning plane in the entire plane set while flying one of the worst turning planes in the entire set is "a good fight". That's all I'll say since this is totally off topic.

Of course my perspective from my disadvantaged position was somewhat different and was hampered by my constantly having to look back and up.... but since you have a much higher grade metal membership than me, guess that make's it your story so you tell it like you like.

If it were up to me there would be nothing but name and post content.  Maybe an automatic mini-avatar that showed the plane you flew most.
