Title: No Engine Noise in Film Viewer
Post by: Nefarious on March 24, 2011, 07:57:27 AM
Just checked numerous films from the last few FSO's and BOG and none have engine noises anymore.

Excuse me if this has been mentioned, I searched and only found much older threads.

yep!

It would be wonderful   to get an overhaul of the film viewer all together!

I've got the same thing, so I down loaded AH to my laptop and ran a film file , the same on on both my gaming machine and my laptop,  laptop the file had sound.  The gaming machine doesn't.  sound stopped  after the release with the B-29

copied the sounds folder from my laptop to my gaming machine and now have sound , it's the default sounds, but it works.

I noticed no sound at all on mine last time I used it.  It seems that the updates can adversely effect the film viewer but bugs seem to get worked out in the following update.

We have had a couple of updates since the bug appeared but it still has not been addressed yet. :old:

I believe there are other reports of this problem too.  Same boat here.

The latest release of AH appears to only support the AH sounds folder.   If you install the AH sounds folder it works fine.

I don't think it's a bug, I think it was a conscious decision to only support the AH sound pack.

Why the change? I haven't seen HTC weigh in on this issue at all. :headscratch:

All I know is if you use the default sound folder there is no issue.

I'd like to get at least a comment from HTC acknowledging this issue.  If they want to keep outside sounds from being implemented then let us know.

I noticed that my film from FSO this past week where I flew the new A6M3 had engine sounds. I hadn't copied over a new sound for it yet from any of the sound packs that I use for everything else.
