Title: Photoshop guru's
Post by: Getback on March 26, 2011, 05:07:52 AM
Anyone want to do me a favor. I need a picture of sugar cane surrounded by a red circle with a line through the middle. As in saying no. Then I also need a picture or cartoon of someone sweating profusely. These are for the tee shirt I'm making.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

sounds like a pseudo sugar busters diet symbol...

as appealing as it may seem now...the representation of sugar cane is too similar to bamboo, it wouldn't do much but garner you raised eyebrows...kinda reminds me of a bad nerd movie where the nerds use the pi symbol to represent pie.

you're probably going to have to use words to get the effect you want...

No, sugar cane looks a lot like it, though.

Keep in mind folks, that the original graphic he'll be needing needs to be as close to actual print size or LARGER.   Which is why Get may want to let folks know how large he will need it in either inches or pixels.

It's relatively easy for a printer to take an image that is larger than print size and make it smaller without image degredation...not the same the other way around.

Take an 300 x 300 pixel image (full color) and go to resize image and make it 10% smaller, then 20% smaller and so on and look at image quality.  Take the same image and start making it larger in 10% increments and look at what happens.  It gets unbelievably pixelated, blurred, and nasty pretty quick.

True, but I'm not going to waste the bandwidth by posting a 5MB image that he doesn't want.
If he likes it, I'll e-mail a usable image.

That's why there's vector graphics. You can convert a small image to scale flawlessly with that.

I'm think very seriously about Drone's pic. I got it immediately. Not that I'm a chemist but I know how drone thinks. If memory serves me I believe at one time Drone wanted to be a chemist. We talked about this when he was exploring the possibility of making beer. My best guess is many people would not get it but the more learned ones would.

You may 'get it' given the context of discussion. Show it to a random person he'll think you're against genetic manipulation, nuclear power or something :)

I vote Drone as well..

A) simply put it's better than mine

but, more importantly,

B) You got it and that's what counts :D

If I remember correctly, it is either Sucrose or Lactose.

I like this one!! For being a molecule it has a simplistic design. I think with the, "Sugar is a gateway drug" people will get it. Further unlike a picture, you can take it in faster.

I know it's a sugar, but it could have been:

Sucrose
Fructose
Glucose
Dextrose
Maltose

Thank you very much Drone! I will send a photo of the Tee when I get it. It will have to be on my second tee-shirt since I had already ordered one. However I look so forward to it.
