Title: Powered USB hubs
Post by: Wolfala on March 26, 2011, 02:37:20 PM
Have no idea which ones to get if you are using a lot of highspeed devices on the same hub (i.e. external USB monitors, HDs, etc).

Can't find a review worth a damn about them either that isn't a fluff piece.

I have had good luck with Belkin powered hubs. I'm using one of those 7 port Belkin hubs with the removable non powered 4 port hub. I've had it for several years now and have never had a problem with it.

I have the cheapest powered four port hub I could find.  I think I got it for $7 three years ago.  It still works just fine.

I used it for my X52, its rudders, As a power source for my speakers, and for my TrackIr.

I don't see any need to spend big bucks on one... there's really not a lot to them.  Your bigger concern might be the power output and the longevity of the power supply for it, but I don't think those figures are usually listed in the specs for these.
