B29 flying. Superb weekend flying!
Me and a squad mate upped B29 formations, flew to Okinawa and bombed a town and HQ. As we were heading back north at 22,000 feet, a Japanese fighter was waiting with higher altitude. He proceeded to bounce our B29s at least once.
Then the fighter started heading for home. At this juncture, we proceeded on approach procedures when the fighter came back and eventually with his friend. We had our hands full manning guns. Eventually he pilot wounded my squaddie lead bomber, killed my tail turret. We killed one enemy fighter and still had to deal with the other when a friendly allied fighter showed up. We landed.
Great fun, historic feeling.
And it was free! With formations!
And yes, I even saw allieds capture a V base on Okinawa, wtg <S>. BTW, I don't understand why 'fork' logged in last night and turned bombsights into easy mode. They're ok, but it will cause such a huge bomb-fest. I enjoyed learning how to manual calibrate at very fast speeds to hit targets, good practice for FSO's should they use manual. Just wondering 'fork'.
