Dear Sirs,
I flew AH1 for 2 years, mostly the FW-190D.
After 8 years, I came back here. I've been playing now for about a month....and after trying to fix all the hardware and software issues, I'm getting frustrating. This is the reason I am asking for some kind of help.
The problem is that I can't control a plane as I used to. And I really I'd appreciate any help here.
Now I'm gonna set out what could be the possible cause of the problem:
1. Connection issue (lag)
2. New joystick
3. LCD monitor
4. Changes in performance of planes from AH1 to AH2
4. Lack of practice. After some months everything will turn out to be the same as AH1
The following step is setting out the problem:
FW190 is not anymore a stable flying platform:
1. Her nose bounces too much when I try to aim
2. Power gunnery has dismini sh. I remember a plane going off with a quick short snapshot. Now snapshots doesn't work and I need longer spraying on target.
3. higher centripetal slip.
And now the step where I need to establish a relation ship between causes and effects in order to work them out:
1. Nose bounces too much:
- Video setting problem: Too much detail for what my processor can support (for example)
- Joystick problem: I need to work with dumping / scales, etc
- Flying model: Flying code changed from AH1 to AH2 and it's the way it is now
2. Less Firepower:
- HTC changed the damage modelling from AH1 to AH2)
- Damage modelling remains the same. It could have to do with connection issues)
- My aiming sucks. I need to work at it
3. Plane slips more:
- HTC changed the damage modelling from AH1 to AH2
- Lack of practice and I need to get the feeling again
Anyhelp will be very appreciate. As you can Imagine, I don't know if this problem is a hardware issue, software issue, changes AH1 vs AH2 or a process of just get the feeling again.
Every cause will need a different solution..so...please help.
Thank you very much.

if you could record a sortie and link it here we may be able to offer some help....but yes since AH1 a lot of things have changed, including the 190's flight model.
-
what kind of stick do you use? did you try to put some damping and scaling?
-
I'll record a sortie and will post it Noir. Stick: Hotas Thrustmaster.
If flight model changed it begins to explain some things....
-
in your controller settings -> advanced, activate the scaling on your Y (elevators) axis if it isn't done already. It will smooth out the input and should help with the bouncing nose.
as a sidenote in AH1 we didn't have as much gun dispersion as we do now...d800 kills are exceptional now, before it was pretty common.

Hya Noir and thank you for your answers.
All the behaviour I described is already with scaling working.

These could explain that It is much harder to get kills now and It doesn't all have to do with connection or bad aiming

Nose bounce can very much be attributed to inputs, and it's not always just scaling. Sometimes you have to get into custom scaling and deadband and damping.
I find the entire 190 series much BETTER to fly now than from AH1. I also have not had much problems with nose bounce with either my current stick or my previous stick (both radically different sticks).
I would imagine this is purely a setup issue rather than a "the game has changed and is bad" issue.

Ok I'll watch it after work!

Everything has changed in the last 8 years. Big change in flight model v1.04 I think. Damage model big changes as well.
AH1 v AH2 is going to be tuff to compare.

well I watched the film and everything seemed alright, you've got to remember that 190D9's are not very stable near 200mph. I believe your issue is more related to the way you fly than a technical issue (smooth on the stick!). Also hit sprites can come the 50cals only, 20mm's have a different trajectory.

Try to fly with combattrim on... :salute

Did you get a chance to compare the 190 film clip I sent you, Kovel?
-
Krusty, I watched it. It seems that your plane is behaving like mine. And Noir told me that he sees a normal flying in my film.
You master the snapshot.
Krusty and Noir, thx for films. Now I know that it is not a setting issue. It all has to do with my flying style. I have to get used to flying with AH2 aerodynamics step by step....as I'm actually stuck to AH1 dora style of flying....
Tank you very much to both of you and all the gentle people that give me any clues above :salute :salute :salute

I replied to your e-mail. Watched the film. Noticed no nose bounce at all. I did notice you're manually trimming and a few times you were out of trim. I did notice you also use a lot of dives and then zooms-til-you-stall moves in rapid succession, and that this will greatly worsen out-of-trim flying problems.

kovel if you ever see me in the MAs let me know and i will gladly go to the TA and help out with some pointers

I wanna thank you all for tips and thoughts.....now I feel I can control my plane :aok :aok :aok

Just a stab in the dark but do you have stall limiter box checked? Prefs>Flight If so, uncheck it.
