Flew in the Snapshot tonight. Upon getting back on the CV with a good landing the carrier seemed to just run out from under me dropping me off the fantail into the ocean.
What's up with that?

hook down and you accelerated :aok :rofl youre not the first and will not be the last

No, I suspect somebody jumped the task group. Usually a CM. It "jumps" really fast to the next waypoint. Fast way of moving it around the map.
Happens when they move fleets for gun battles and stuff sometimes. Usually they don't do that with active CVs though.
EDIT: Although the tailhook bit is a known sporadic bug. Doesn't usually manifest when landing though.

Only when you're taking off backwards.

I've had it happen when taking off forward with hook down.

Never sporadic for me, happens like clockwork.

If I remember right there is a way to go backwards on a carrier, hook up and just a little, little bit of throttle and you slowly roll backwards. Hook down and a bit of throttle and you shoot of the backend.

Incorrect on the CV jump. They ran their course that I laid in before event started. However, if I did jump the carrier, it would have disappeared out from underneath a player sitting on the deck.

Not a sporadic bug really. Jump on a carrier, grab a plane and get on flightdeck. Once your engines are running, lower your hook and give about 10% throttle. 10 out of 10 I will go backwards.

You cannot be the slightest above idle.

I've had the TG "jump" from underneath me before. I misread his post to think it sounded the same.
As for the hook: I thought it only bad the slingshot if going backwards? Maybe just notching your throttle up a tad means you actually started drifting back on the deck and that's what did it (rather than the throttle)?
