I think we need to get the PBY Catalina "Black Cat" in here. just throwing it out here but, I think we should get some sea planes out there THAT CAN AUCCUALLY LAND AND TAKE OFF feet wet

fly it around for 2 weeks thinking about how "kewl" it is, then get tired of being shot down and grab a fighter.

Oh well. That Flying Boat sure was kewl.

Yeah. It's that sort of fast food impulse. OTOH, imagine someone who specialized in a weapon as potentially fearsome as the Emily.

Yes, and this makes the explosion o' fire that results when you pump it's deserving ace full o' taters an especially rewarding one.

I say add it.  It would finally get me to fly a B-17 or B-24 and fly around and hunt the sea planes for some amusing fun.

I found a photo of it dropping bombs a while back. I thought it was primarily recon & rescue? Oh it was an artist's impression

PBY's were used for scout/recce/patrol/anti-shipping/night interdiction/night harassment/SAR missions.  I believe the PBY (The Black Cats specifically) that counted empty beer bottles and pieces of shrapnel as regular part of their ordnance.

some sea planes did bomb other ships
