Post by: 7super61 on April 04, 2011, 08:32:15 PM: I think we need to get the PBY Catalina "Black Cat" in here. just throwing it out here but, I think we should get some sea planes out there THAT CAN AUCCUALLY LAND AND TAKE OFF feet wet

Oh well. That Flying Boat sure was kewl.

Yeah. It's that sort of fast food impulse. OTOH, imagine someone who specialized in a weapon as potentially fearsome as the Emily.

Yes, and this makes the explosion o' fire that results when you pump it's deserving ace full o' taters an especially rewarding one.

PBY's were used for scout/recce/patrol/anti-shipping/night interdiction/night harassment/SAR missions. I believe the PBY (The Black Cats specifically) that counted empty beer bottles and pieces of shrapnel as regular part of their ordnance.

some sea planes did bomb other ships
