I am working on reducing the number of fields on a terrain. After a field is deleted, the icon is gone but its dar circle remains. How do I get rid of that?
-
Save after deletion then File > open > terrain .oba file usually works, if not then shut down the editor and restart it.

Right-click your CBM and cycle through "show radar rings" (or whatever) to refresh the display.
And yeah, save/close/open (as annoying at that is) is the best for refreshing everything on the terrain.

Thanks. That did the trick. Unfortunately, I really screwed the pooch trying to remove bases. Somehow a base got renamed as a61_61 and I can't get rid of it. The zones only go up to 32 and have no idea how it got this way. any ideas?

Thats odd. It will not change when you open the field properties and type in a new zone?
The only other way of changing it would be using note pad. Open your terrain folder and find the .oba file open with note pad and then find field 61. From left to right count 10 columns this is the zone column. Find the number 61 and change it to the correct zone and save. Be advised that these columns must line up both horizontally and vertical. So if you take out the number 61 and add a single digit be sure all is lined up correctly.
Oh in the .oba 0 = zone 1, 1 = zone 2 and 2 = zone 3
Also it would be good to save a copy before you make the changes. Just to be safe ;)

Things got even more odd when I tried fixing it in notepad. The field is listed as V-something, not GSM like the other airfields (even though it shows up as an airfield on the terrain editor. I don't see 61 anywhere that I can change. Looks like I will have to use my last saved copy and take it from there. :(
Thanks for the help though guys. :salute
