 Kieren brought up ditching. Does it count as a death.

When this tour started, I began with a 15 kills, and 1 ditch, scoring page showed K/D ratio as 15/1...I 'assumed' ditching was counted as a death.  It should be if you're anywhere near enemy territory.  The reasons are obvious, keeps someone that has been out-flown, outnumbered from simply ditching.

I'm afraid I mispoke; a bail is a death. I'm not sure about the ditching thing.

We should get a new "result": captured.

If you ditch or bail behind enemy territory, you would be captured and loose your streak. If you bail or ditch succesfully on your own side you would get to keep your streak.

And the streak should be shown on your kill messages, and not reset every sortie!

There has been a new row in the stats called captured, i guess its not effect yet.
Ditching should def. count as a kill for the victor, i dont think that it should count as a death for the vanquished.

Only problem is you may make it back to base with a perfectly good plane and just miss the runway...if you've been pinged prior, what you suggest means the guy that pinged ya gets the kill.

Also if the runway is gone and you land back at your base with some pings (again maybe no dmg) the guy that pinged you gets your kill.

There should be a limit of damage where a ditch is awarded as a kill if you ditch on your own side of the lines.  Ditching behind enemy lines should result in a capture, and of course an awarded kill if you were pinged.

And yes, deadstick landing 10ft off the runway and getting a ditch just isnt right. Imho, if you land within the airbase area, it should count as landed.

And I strongly suggest the kill streak to be displayed in the kill message.

In the past HTC has discussed how the K/D ratio is calculated.


I believe it goes like this:

K/D = (Number of Kills) / ((Number of Deaths) + 1)

So if you had 15 kills and no deaths I would assume your K/D would be 15/1 or 15.  If you had 15 kills and three deaths your K/D would be 15/4 or 3.75.

Maybe HTC can implement a probable stat.

RE:Kill streak
Having that displayed I think is going to make you a hunted target as is with the Victory #x number at the moment.

With regards to streak, I think it should just be included in your score stats as it was in WB.
