The McDonnell FH Phantom was a twin-engined jet fighter aircraft designed and first flown during World War II for the United States Navy. The Phantom was the first purely jet-powered aircraft to land on an American aircraft carrier[1][N 1] and the first jet deployed by the United States Marine Corps. Although its front-line service was relatively brief, it helped prove the viability of carrier-based jet fighters to the leadership of the Navy. Furthermore, it was McDonnell's first successful fighter, leading to the development of the follow-on F2H Banshee, one of the two most important naval jet fighters of the Korean War.
This would be another good pic I would like to see. Good lord I cant stand the 262, lets get on with American jets.

not an WWII jet.
The first Phantoms were delivered to USN fighter squadron VF-17A (later redesignated VF-171) in August 1947; the squadron received a full complement of 24 aircraft on 29 May 1948. Beginning in November 1947, Phantoms were delivered to US Marine squadron VMF-122, making it the first USMC combat squadron to deploy jets. VF-17A became the USN's first fully operational jet carrier squadron when it deployed aboard USS Saipan on 5 May 1948.
same website you got your info from.

You'll just have to do without. There is only a single Allied jet that might be added, and it was British. No other Allied jet even got past prototype stage in WWII, let alone saw any kind of action.

Wasn't the P-80 being delivered before VJ-day, but not to combat units?
I don't want it included, just seems past prototype as well.

There were two that were sent to Italy, I think, for evaluation purposes late in the War in Europe, but they never saw combat.

Correct Sax, and I believe one of those two was destroyed in a crash, further slowing the production process of the P-80

As the YP-80, which means the examples were prototypes.

the only allied jet that even has a chance of getting added would be the Gloster Meteor, and frankly i would like to see it.
the meteor would only get added because it saw combat in squadron strength in WW2. while there actions were limited to A2G and V1 interception duty, they did fire their guns in anger before the war ended.
before you make such proposals, make sure they saw combat in squadron strength
