Title: Change the time limits
Post by: Valkyrie on April 16, 2011, 10:38:37 PM: For these long PTO operations change to extended time. Or a T+120 end of combat. With mustang and 47n drop tanks staying over japan would not be a problem. Last frame I had to break off a dogfight just torun home. It would have been nice to be able to carry the fight to the end and fly home after flying the 1st hour just to get into action. Give us a reward for flying these absurdly long distance missions. It wouldnt cost anything but 30min of time. Years ago that was how scenarios were done. Cause in this set up there was room for but 10 min of fighting 40 home and an hour 10 to get to bad guy land. Flying to northern japan just doesn't seem to pay.

Post by: Krusty on April 16, 2011, 11:05:33 PM: Your reward is flying a plane 2x faster than the opposition, at 2x the alt the opposition is comfortable flying, with quick snapshot kill ability against ligher more fragile planes.

My group got sent in TBMs with no escorts against massive high alt N1K2 defenders... Never even got feet dry before being wiped out.

Count your blessings that you GET to run home because lack of fuel. That means you control all aspects of the engagement and can simply leave whenever you want.
