Attention to orders:
On 30 April 2011 L.T.A.R. will roll for the last time. Effective 1 May 2011 L.T.A.R will cease to be.
The last 3 members of LTAR have decided to call it quits. We will be reorganizing as a new squad.
See ya in our gun sights :salute
LTARwojo The last C.O. of LTAR.

Good Luck! You guys were ALWAYS great enemies! <S>
-
sorry to see you guys breaking up.
To LTARS riding again someday  :salute

Bummer!
I always thought Lead To Air Ratio was a clever idea.
Sad to see them go.
:salute

Sorry to hear this. They've been a long time fixture in the MA. Best of luck with the new squad.

First the BK's, then the Few (answer in AoM forum to Grizz's inquiry about the next Muppet/Few matchup):
Bruv said it's not gonna happen. Too many of their good pilots are iRacing i guess...
Now the LTARS?
(Not that the Few are in the same league but they so desperately want to be...)
Sad the ghosttown this place is becoming.
<S> LTARS. You were always fun to have in the fight.
-
Had some great times fighting the LTARs. Sad to see the squad go. :salute guys
-
:salute to one of the oldest AH Squadrons :aok
Sad to see it go, but it was nice to see an LTAR (tank) green yesterday in Rookland :)
<S> To LTARS
Oz
-
:salute to the first squad that I really noticed as a force in the MA's back when I started playing. "LTAR'S AT A...!" was an alert that was electrifying a whole country...
-
Sad to see guys would rather join 20 winged squads rather than 1 good quality squad these days.
LTARS used to cause alot of havok in their prime and sad to see them go :salute
-
sorry to hear that wojo. i was seriously rooting for you guys last year when you guys said the squad was recruiting again... <S>
P.S. keep your in game names :aok you deserve to :aok

I hope you reform soon!

Why disband to form another squad? Can't you simply press on? Throw some money together and hire some hitmen. :D
-
I always respected and enjoyed the fights with the LTARs. In the pre-wrible days they were down right deadly in an Ostie; and the tank battles were a blast (no pun intended)
I wish you well.
:salute
-
LTARWojo,
My good old friend, I sincerely hope to see a huge turnaround on this statement. Call it a sabatical or a break, reorganizing in any fashion that you guys see fit, PLEASE. I cannot imagine a new ground vehicle concept with newly added ground armor and an absence of "LTARs" to show us what to do with them. :frown:
Hell, if I was ANY good in those things, I would join up with you brother and be proud just to hold the LTAR flag. PM me, I am very concerned about this. At least hold the flag through to the next version update sirs, I beg of you.
You have taken enough of our souls  in combat that we are all somewhat intertwined. AH2 and LTAR are synonymous.
Your pal Chilli :salute

same here, why start a new one?
-
I remember years ago the whines on the forums and in game about the LTARs rivaled those of the current ones about the vGuys.
Too bad the LTARs are closing up shop, they made this game interesting and fun. They were both good foes and good allies. :salute
ack-ack

it was fun dive bombing your gvs=/

Ya but most were deadly even if was just a couple of them around. I can compare them to the AKs now a days. Just a real pain in the arse to go up against but in a respectful skill kind of way

<S> LTARs!
Consider to stay in AH as the best way to pay hommage to your squadron. Small is beautiful too.
Cheers! :salute
-
<S> Sorry to see you guys go Wojo. Its been fun to play with you guys as much as it to go against you guys. Certainly is a loss for the Aces community ...
-
<S> Don't play much now these days, but I've always respected the LTARS. Finding out they were defending a base meant it was going to be one tough fight.

Same.
It was a true privledge to have been a part of it. When wearing the LTAR patch, there were times I would show up at a base under attack by myself, and I'd get comments on range to the effect that everything was under control since LTAR had arrived. Their reputation was hard earned and well deserved.
I am very sorry to see it come to this.
Since I haven't seen GHI on the boards for a while, I'm going to steal his picture.

Sorry to hear that. I remember attacking bases that were being defended by LTARs & they could pick me off from incredible distances with an osti. They used to really pizz in my cheerios. :bhead
Hope you guys come back.

ahhhh man i remember that picture those where the good ole days there. 9-12 LTARs on the runway waiting for the next poor soul to dive. i can hear moil just said "CAN'T DODGE RAIN DROPS" "Look at him dance" lol fun times
wojo sorry to see it come to and end. hopefully Bill or someone will return to bring this great squadron back.
best of luck to the last three LTARs that stuck around

First the BK's, then the Few (answer in AoM forum to Grizz's inquiry about the next Muppet/Few matchup):
(Not that the Few are in the same league but they so desperately want to be...)
excuse me Sunbat, but posting private quotes from members of your own squadron publicly is a bit low class don't you think?
Grizz inquired as to our availability and this is what I sent him.
"wasn't a very good response, quite a few of our regular duelers are missing."
now where does that say there will be no match at all? I have also just sent him another reply, feel free to share that also . If your calling into question our readiness then why didn't we have any further matches after the first one? It all went AWFULLY quiet and now interest has peaked again. I will also add that this whole challenge thing was the muppet's creation and you are the ones that have backed off entirely over the last year. Have we taunted or poked the bear? NO.
I will also add that the muppets present at the previous fight were magnanimous in defeat and it is posts like yours that start nothing but trouble.
You can start another thread to answer this. Wouldn't want to hijack LTAR's.
Good day sir

I think you meant 'piqued'.
Carry on.
:salute LTARs, it was always a hoot bombin' you guys.

I agree with you whole-heartedly, Kilz. My post has been misinterpreted. I was simply bemoaning the disappearance of prominent squads from the game. In the case of The Few there was some supporting evidence at my fingertips of the motivation for their disappearance so I hastily posted it not considering its inflammatory nature. Also in my haste I chose my words poorly and mentioned the word “league” which could be misinterpreted. My intention was to not insult the LTARS or the BK’s by comparing them to The Few who, while they were rising to equal prominence before their decline, did not attain to the heights of these other two squads except in their own mind - that was my point. It all came out wrong and it may still be coming out wrong, if it is, I apologize.
I will perpetuate this no further. I am sorry for the misunderstanding.
If I may be so bold as to speak for all of the Muppets, we salute the LTAR’s and cherish their contribution and memories of great fights. From the Muppets to the LTAR’s…

Sad to see the name go. Remember the days like Target posted, before the days of the Wirb where it took skill to hit something.

The whines and accusations of the c-word from their prowess in Ostwinds and manned-ack were epic as well. They were truly, absolutely and unequivocally the best at what they did.

You mean the old says when you could drive an Ostie to a panzer and kill it in couple of shots or drive an M3 inside of a Tiger and kill it with .50 cals? Yeah, I really miss those skilled filled days. :rofl

I dont think the LTAR's were ever hated per say. Just cussed a few times. ;) At least LTAR's were never a constant horde squad.
:salute
-
If you bagged an LTAR it was worth a special metion on squad channel and an LTAR warning went out if you encountered them on a base take.
I don't remember ever hearing an Ltard spoken either which is praise in deed :salute. (Well sort of in reverse :D)

<S> LTARS
Having the squad name in your name must surely help though. The reputation is of course essential but the other element must be being instantly recogniseable as of that squad has to be a factor.
I wonder if High Tech could someohow incorporate this without us all having to change our names. When I kill someone or are killed it would be interesting to know immediately which squad especially if famous they were in. I think anything that creates more interest is good for all of us.
-
Perhaps what should be done is every map have a "War Memorial" area. 5-10 miles somewhere in the center of the maps, where exists a salute to the squads past................ Names in the sand, on a statue, something.
:salute
-
When I was LCA I hated hearing squad channel frantically fill up with chatter that the base we were attacking was filling with LTARs GVs.
They certainly were the best base defence squad out there.
