QUESTION! Did Germany have a Ju-87 that was a carrier base AC?

QUESTION! Did Germany have a Ju-87 that was a carrier base AC?
Yes along with their vast armada of aircraft carriers. But seriously yes there was a JU87C designed for carrier ops with foldign wings

QUESTION! Did Germany have a Ju-87 that was a carrier base AC?
that would depend on how you look at it.
i'll answer your question with my own question, then i'll answer it.......did germany have a fully operational aircraft carrier in ww2?
they didn't. the graf zeppelin i believe made it to sea, but was never finished.
what i did, was to do a "what if" scenario. the planned aircraft for the graf zeppelin were the Fieseler Fi 167 biplane, the messerchmitt bf109t(which i think was a "E" modified for carrier use), and the ju87.
i was gonna try to use one of the german ww1 planes to sub for the feisler, and one of the british ww1 planes to sub for the swordfish(which saw action against the fleet as it steamed north through the channel), but i thought better of it.
this is also partially based on some reality. look up "operation cerberus".
then get yer bellybutton in there and have some fun sir!!!!!!
matchups are spit5 vs bf109f, tbm vs ju87, and fw190 vs f4f wildcat.
the 109/spit match up is an unusually even fight. :aok

I knew that they had a carrier and the 109T was for that reason (Did you know that the 109T was the first german fighter to shot down a B-17). I really did not see anything if there was a Ju-87 that was cappable to take off a carrier. Nor did i think it had the power to do so.
-
I took a stuka over to a nearby enemy base with a friendly CV near it, I'd drop my bomb, rearm at carrier and do it again.
Stukas are fun
-
I believe the plan was to develop a carrier borne Stuka.
"Goering had been ordered by Hitler to develop aircraft for the ship. His response was to offer redesigned versions of the then-obsolete JU-87 Stuka dive bomber and older versions of the Messerschmitt 109 fighter."

75% fuel and 3 eggs is possible to lift off a carrier IF you don't have a tail wind. It can be done with a head wind or no wind (besides the wind created from the forward movement of the CV, a la the MA's) In the AVA right now the wind comes out of the SW and the CV groups steam in a long preset pattern that is moving either roughly NE or SW, but hell you know all this already Cap.

yea i do. we put the cv on auto pilot like that, so it'd always be near bases for good cv vs base fights.
i'm REALLY hoping people are having fun with it. we cut the wind down from the 15kts, and increased the visibility, so you guys could have a little more fun.
i personally just think it's cool as hell launching a german plane off of the cv. i was shocked at how easily the 109f gets off the deck. i may try to fly and die tonight........

how many times did you hit the flaps key?

me? on my successfull take off, i rolled with 1 notch, hit the 2nd notch just before going off the end.

Looks to me like you forgot to turn the carrier into the wind ;)

Both the Bf 109T and the Ju 87C were built and used operationally (albeit not from carriers, or with their naval gear).
The Ju 87C's that were built went, off of the top of my head, somewhere in the east, and the dozen or so Bf 109T's were put in a unit called Jagdstaffel Helgoland which operated on... guess... the island of Heligoland (Helgoland in German) in the German Bight.
Jasta Helgoland was eventually rolled into JG11, as 11. Staffel if I remember correctly.
As noted earlier, Bf 109T's from Jasta Helgoland were the first aircraft to shoot down a B17.. imagine that, shooting down a B17 in what was effectively a Bf 109E-7 (MG FFM's and all) with longer wings...

It was a tongue in cheek remark.
See much wind when taking off from a CV in AH these days? lol

technically speaking, yes.
how fast are the cv's? 30kts? that's a hefty headwind. :devil
you oughtta try this set one evening. the 109f vs spit5 match seems pretty dam close. i actually managed to do half way decent in a martlet vs the 109f too. i lost....which i did most fights, as i suck in the spitfires....well...i suck period right now.....but still..........it's friggin FUN seeing german iron launch from a cv!!
<<S>>to the luftwienies in the ava!!

I flew for awhile in there. Was on axis side to even up. Does feel funny in 109 off cv.
Only one person ho'd and it was pattonjr. All others were outstanding. I landed a smoking hulk more than once.

THEY'RE GERMAN!!
they got sonic measuring devices that none of us non-german pile-itas would understand

Which would explain my augering habits. :neener:

Count your blessings. I've been stuck in Spits all week. I'm going to have to take a bleach bath to get the smell off of me. That's only one step up from flying a B38. :bolt:

Which leads to a natural hijack: 1946. Think about it.
