The moon has been bright orange and the haze has been really bad from all the smoke. My mom and little brother are both asthmatics and are having respiratory trouble.

I was out at my property 15 miles N of Stephenville last Fri and the smoke was so thick blowing in that it looked like dusk at 3pm.
Ash was drifting down like snow flurries.
Too close for comfort. :O :O

Too late for that.

Stay safe Wab
Thanks.
Good chance of rain the next week. That would be a God-send.
Heck, even if the wind would drop below 20mph that could turn the tide.

As little as I like to hear the local sirens going off it would have been nice if that squall that blew through last night could have been a little further out west.

Many of my relatives were delayed getting to my great grandmothers funeral in Albany on Sunday because of the fires. Some said that the flames East of there were nearly 5 stories tall in the thick brush. I live in San Angelo and they had to evacuate several homes on the outskirts of town. But, as we speak a thunderstorm is brewing, lets hope it brings some good rain, and not 5 minutes of rain and lightning to start more fires like the last one. :pray

Hazy here in Austin. Orange moon. Can't smell it though.

sux for who is dealing with it...I hope for the best for you.

There are 2 big fires west of me in Jack and Young counties. So far all the grassfires in Wise county have been caught fast before they could spread. We've had a burn ban for several weeks but there are still idiots that refuse to comply. 2 fires started last week were from people burning leaves in 40mph winds. :bhead
There was a line of severe thunderstorms that moved thru North Texas tonight. Hopefully that put most of them out around here.

It looks really bad.
