The Jug's Tail... because its better if you point it AWAY from your ennemies
So... you want tail slides? You want flat stalls? You want to know what a brick with wings can do? There you have it :D
Here it is for your own enjoyment:
The Jug's Tail (http://youtu.be/SX73JT3o4GM?hd=1)
So, its all about the tail slides and wierd moves in this one so don't expect kills from all of them, its all about the moves. No major innovation from my previous video Hunt or Prey (found here (http://youtu.be/x3HPaXGUDrM?hd=1)) visually though.
Thanks for watching!

Definatly, the light hearted ending was the best!! :aok

Frankly, I worry about the fidelity of the AH flight model after seeing that.
Edit: the only thing I can think of to explain it is you're fighting with a 100mph updraft the entire time

Well, if Hitech ever decides to tamper with the flight model(very unlikely as I do find it realistic) to make it more accurate, then I will BEG them not to touch my trusty Jug :P

Great Vid
:aok :aok :aok :aok :aok
5 thumbs up :D
-
first let me say...one of the best looking films I ever saw...if not the best
I also want to say I have never seen flying like that in AH...at 1:35.... :headscratch:
the whole thing makes me think you are in a small aerobatic plane.....
edit
Ive had to re-watch it....damn now I wanna see that stuff a fight.

Makes me want to fly a P47.
Good video. :aok

I need to ask this. Can you post one of your videos with this tail move? How do you get such incredibly high alpha while so slow?

I posted a bunch of flims about it (Most of its content has been used for the making of this video) and they can be found on this tread: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,307966.msg3976107.html#msg3976107 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,307966.msg3976107.html#msg3976107)

It is all about using the plane past "stall"
The "stall" is not a boundary to be feared, it is to be embraced :aok

Absolutely a fun and AH-educational film to watch. I can't tell you how many times I watched it right away, back to back. Amazing :rock :joystick:
Now I am off to read what you posted in that explanatory thread. :D That brick looked as if it had jet thrusters on it :rofl
Lepape2 you are too good at this.... we're not worthy.
Please get with Rolex or FLS and crew and do a Training Arena session on this. Solid AH-GOLD.

Jug has a magic flaps
-
Only watched it once but what I'm seeing is instant full flaps, assumable chop of throttle, hard kick of rudder, instant flap retraction and zoom climb. Yes, no?
Where in the heck is the E coming from for the zoom climb?
:O
-
I make it a practice to dedicate my self to several flight sims IL2, rise of flight, wings of prey,A10 war hog,.. One thing I have found is that they all have there pros and cons in regard to flight modeling.. Its a SIM its not real and developers can only get CLOSE..
The one observation That I have made though is that AH with out question has IMO the best flight model out of every Sim I fly.. That said the flight models are still fantastic in the Sims I mention and they offer different features and game play that AH doesn't. Its easy to nit pick but If you diversify your flight Sim experience around more that one Sim you will come to truly appreciate The quality AH delivers in regard to flight modeling...

Brilliant~~ :aok

You got your answers there:
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,307966.msg3974391.html#msg3974391 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,307966.msg3974391.html#msg3974391)
Use of flaps purely depends on what state of E and turn rate you want to end up on the way down for saddling up on the ennemy or extending away. Chopping throttle is only usefull for steady controled hammerheads (the very first image in the video has very carefull use of it) or avoid possible spins. Having max throttle helps in this case because it keeps RPM maxed out and thus gyroscopic precession maxed out. To zoom climb in a Jug, you need roughly 150mph and flaps. The tail slide is a bonus to reverse faster, burn excess E and point your nose at the ennemy.

Hey JUGler, is it okay if I try a bit too much to induce players into trying the dark side of the force?

Would you ever consider a clinic in the Training Arena with some of us "Brick" pilots? You sir, may have just hit on the one thing, that will have me signing up to HTC for a 6 mos. subscription, no questions asked. I can imagine it would take at least that long just to even understand more than a handful of shots that your film shows. :pray

Ive got more chance of achieving these moves with my Mrs`s jugs than the AH2 model (they are wildly maneuverable with a very low c of g these days)so Im off to practice,if she lets me of course. :bolt:

funny every time I see a Jug I am hoping its you Lepape :D

This type of flying in P47s dates back as far as folks like Yucca, Nomde, ManeTMP. Never before seen it showcased in movies so well as this though. To those who can't understand the flight model, I suggest you fly around offline a bit and just throw your plane into some stalls and spins for a while and see what you can do.
LePape has mastered the art better than anyone I've ever seen. Just incredible volume of footage.
What really amazes me the most is your AHF camera work. I would just love to see a tutorial on your camera work.
Most excelent film making and flying. Bravo, Sir!

You are not the only one. :lol But unlike you, I'd be greased in 10 seconds flat :ahand, and that's being wishful on my part. :joystick: Would be awesome to see though in "real time" though. :aok

:noid I'll just fly the jug if i cant do it in my normal birds.

that is one incredible video :O
The ending tops it all - in the last shot the jug is like a whale jumping out of the water onto the carrier deck :lol
-
i got to see some of these moves firsthand in BoG. :aok good stuff Lepape2 :salute

JUG, you should try this move with a low speed lala sometime :aok not as smooth to control but incredibly fun to see a 190 duck underneath while u shot him up
-
That's an incredible video..amazing flying, too :rock
-
thats a great video. Little more practice nd ur pings can become kill shots. <S. !!
-
Absoloutly incredible video. I've been very inspired to fly the jug as of late. Good going, my Pj is getting jealous. :P
Does anyone have any detailed information on these maneuvers? I can't find any relating to AH, and my search function is giving me trouble. :(

Hub and I had a pretty decent fight in his 47-40 and my beloved 51. He sure was turning that fat girl awesome like. I was lucky to get him and when we were BSing with each other via PM. He said Lepape gave him some tips on the jug flying.
Pretty awesome tips I must say :aok
-
I wonder if I can pull this off in a B25, I mean it's fat and ugly so it should work. :D

Lepape I have been trying to emulate your moves since you released your first film. I have scored many kills that I wouldn't have before but I must confess that I am not even close to replicating some of your moves. :joystick: :headscratch: :bhead My 11yr old son asked me for an account and a flightstick after watching your film "Hunt or Prey". Even my wife enjoys your films and she hates Aces High with a passion :x Frank Capra has nothing on you :salute
Heres one you inspired http://www.mediafire.com/?l2m55oi7c46ztlb

Very close!! I was in the 110 and didnt know Pepe was filming or I would have shot back for effect. Lepape spends plenty of time in the TA practicing his craft, learning stalls and recoveries are important and once mastered you see results like what Lepape can achive.
Not only some great flying but some good film work too, keep up the good work Pepe!!! :aok
