Title: bomber gunnery

im fairly new here, am piper96 in-game, and i tend to up bombers (B-17s and B-24s) more than anything. usually i get to about 15-20k, then level out. however, i will occasionally run into some enemy fighters before that/after that, and they almost always come up on my 6 after 1 or 2 passes from above. it is then that i proceed to shoot the crap out of them, using about 2150 rounds in the process. 90% of the time they lose a wing, oil, and a fuel tank. i have no films, but if anybody could describe to me their shooting tactics, it would be greatly appreciated.

i know, i saw that a few minutes ago, but im talking about how to shoot down a fighter from one of a bomber's gun positions.

Best thing is to remember to lead ur target, start out with short bursts untill you see the hit sprites. Then you can give them a bit more fire power for the kill.

All I can really say is to use the external view to keep an eye out to see anybody coming up to attack you.  As they get close, then return to the internal view to use the gun turrets.

One last tip is to not be surprised if you die in a catastrophic 3 way death while waiting for that enemy fighter to come into range.  That isn't cheating.  You actually ran your whole flight into a mountain while you were distracted.
