"Heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours.
You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace.
After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well" - Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 1934

I had the honour of carrying the banner and marching at the front of WARTIME: No. 3 Squadron RAAF's last surviving Adelaidian member, if not the SOLE remaining member.

WWI: Western Front 1917-18

WWII:
 - Egypt and Libya 1940-43
 - Syria 1941
 - El Alamein 1942
 - Mareth Line, Tunisia 1943
 - El Hamma Breakthrough 1943

 - Sicily 1943
 - Italy 1943-45
   - Gustav Line 1943-44
   - Anzio and Nettuno 1944
   - Gothic Line 1944
 - South Eastern Europe 1943-45

S.E5a, Gladiator, P-40B, P-51D, F-18A

And also ran the training base for showing Allied Pilots how to fly Captured German BF-109s.

As a very small gesture toward the ANZACs, I hangared the 109 for the day and flew Aussie Spits and Mossies today.

Here was one result:

A squaddie I came across a Ki-84:

Merged:

And I found him flying across my guns:

Clean kill:

I followed him down just for good measure:

And landed:

:salute to the ANZACs and all who fought to keep my country safe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
