Title: thrustmaster t16000m 16k x 16k ?
Post by: eagl on April 25, 2011, 12:21:52 PM
Other than the silly name of the stick, does anyone have any opinion or experiences with the thrustmaster 16000m 16k x 16k stick?  It looks like a reasonably full featured "cheap" stick, $38ish shipped halfway around the world through amazon, and the reviews seemed ok.

Comments?

(I mean really, 16000?  That's a lot of zeros for a cheap stick, and the 16k x 16k seems unnecessary.  Lots of 16s, so yea I get it, 16 and 16 thousand are important numbers for this stick.  Seems a bit excessive.)

Who knows why they name it what they name it... sometimes I think the marketing people just pull numbers out of their... hats.  They really are trying too hard!

Any from what I've read it's a decent stick, especially for the price.  It's definitely the cheapest Hall-Effect stick out there!  If I was on a limited budget looking for a decent standalone stick, that would probably be the one I bought.

It is actually a very good stick.  I've had one for a few months now and really like it.

Cool, thx.  I found one fairly cheap on amazon with free shipping so I ordered it.  I hope it arrives in one piece and not smashed up.

I bought one a while back cheap off Amazon and am trying to figure out a way to make a set of rudder pedals with brakes out of it so I will have a complete TM setup so I can make it all work as one virtual controller in TARGET...TM software for programming their stuff these days.

bought it, luv it. Then I bought one more just to be sure  :rock

Comes from someone who was using a CH fighterstick before.

I have a squaddie who had the rudder spicking on it. I don't personally use the twist.

Its awesome to see an inexpensive higher resolution stick on the market.  256 discreet values is far too few and its about time the joystick manufacturers got off their ar$e and gave us something worthy of being made in the 21st century (even if 11 years late).

If CH doesn't join the party soon I'm going to bail on them, and sell my Fighterstick while its still worth something used, because the high res sticks should by all rights take over very quickly.  The only thing holding me back now is that this stick doesn't look like its buttons are very good, and I never could justify the price of the Hotas Warthog.  There's a lot of room in-between those two to make me a customer of another brand.
