You must re-allow the game through your anti-virus/firewall software again like the game was a new install.

Thank you for your answer. I dunno how to do it.
-
same here... avg is set for aces high allow tried the right click/open and start from program list. it does the same thing, box opens up then goes away. didnt try game till after hires patch download
-
same problem here. I'm not running a firewall..only Microsoft Security Essentials and nothing has changed with that.
-
if you have win7 or vista go to c:\hitech creations\aces high\ and look for aceshigh.exe...right click it then choose "run as administrator"...should run after that.
for the base windows firewall...start > control panel > system and security > allow a program through windows firewall
should be somewhat self expalantory from there...
-
I checked it out and AcesHigh is allowed in my Firewall. Please help me.

Got it to run if I dig up the executable and run as admin. Windows compatibility mode doesn't fix it.
Very hinky update. :bhead

I had the same issue. Gyrene's fix above got things going again. Not sure what changed about the code to require this, but a big <S> for having the answer.

Rename or delete the "ahlogo.jpg" file located in the Aces High installation folder. Windows UAC does not like the size of the file. The game will startup a bit slower, but after that it will run fine.
This is not a game issue, per se. We have no control over UAC in Windows.
