A dear friend of the 777th Squadron died April 24th on Easter Day. He was a good friend to everyone in the squad. As we remember the times we spent with him. Nothing was heard but tears and crys of our old friend. We will miss you Zulu :salute. :pray :pray :pray

Zulu was a longtime member of the 327th Steel Talons, too. He still joined us for FSO.
We wouldn't have even known he had health issues until one FSO he was explaining his absence the previous week with an apology and "I almost died at the hospital." He had an unusual, entertaining sense of humor and an overwhelming desire to strike out on his own and scout out the enemy.
I'll miss his battle cry. I can only imagine how startled they were on the other side when they heard him coming.
The 327th Steel Talons joins the 777th Demons in mourning the loss of our friend and praying for God's mercy.

Wow what happened? Zulu was well known in the 327th. He was always a blast to fly with.
Always a guaranteed flight full of laughs, with his Battle Cry and antics.
:salute RIP Zulu Condolences to all.

RIP Zulu, I flew with him quite a few times. Was always fun to fly with. :frown: :salute
Condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

It's another sad day for all of us. I will miss Zulu's 'yuk yuk' call on vox and his constant chomping at the bit to fly scout. I think the only times he didn't request to fly scout was when we were assigned buffs. Even then I'm certain Zulu had the urge to fly off solo scouting in his bomber. FSO won't be the same without him. Farewell Zulu, may you rejoice in paradise scouting with your new pair of wings.

I had seen Zulu one time last year. He only lived about 50 miles from me. I know he was suffering from heart problems and had been in the hospital before when he was missing online for awhile.
It saddens me to lose a fellow 327th member and a friend. I do not know if he had family in the area or not.
I am sure he is now flying with wings of his own.

I didn't with Zulu much lately, Not on much when rest of 327th on. Grandkids keep me running.
But I thought of Zulu much in the past 18 hours, or whatever since I found out he passed.
I thought of the good old days with the 327th before FSO's. When Mollnir, Eagle and now Zulu were with us.
Squadron was so full,we had 4 seperate wings.
Good ole Zulu would be flying, half lit or better. He'd be on the vox, always calling "Hey azrock",lol.
He would want me to fly off somewhere with him, regardless of what the squadron/wing mission was.
He'd give the Zulu Yell, go diving in amongst 10 enemy. Zulu would be shot up, going down.
Always hear that "G dammit". The way he'd say it though, start out slow-southern drawl, lower tone finishing to louder,
more pronounced.
Of course i'd get shot down too, chasing after him :)
It's sad to see so many people that you come to know here, are suddenly gone forever. It always makes me remember,
especially with some health issues, how quick one's life can be taken away. And to try to live right, by doing right.
God Bless our lost friends, for one day we all will surely join them.

There will be a memorial service on Aceshigh for him with best of friends leading the flight. I have a couple videos of Zulu even back about 2 years ago when he was in the 81st, as well a FSO mission that was recent. Emails will be sent out from Swoops to some squad COs and 777th members. Information will be posted soon on our squad website.
