Title: High Risk for tornados
Post by: Slash27 on April 26, 2011, 10:28:50 AM
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/

You people living in the areas indicated should pay very close attention today. The Storm Prediction Center does not issue many High Risk events each year. Keep in mind the last few days of tornado outbreaks have been in Moderate and Slight Risk areas. This is a very dangerous situation to say the least. Be careful :aok

I'm in the Moderate risk area Tec. I may go east a little and chase but I'm on the fence with that at the moment.

Last week's storms killed 2 here.  My wife knew them both pretty well.  One was an 18 month old little girl.  Their wake was PACKED and sad beyond explaining.

Last night was insane.  Three tornadoes in my county (Garland) alone.

More storms today.  Not looking forward to it.

Been 90 degrees and sunny here through all of this.  Tornadoes and heavy rain just ~50 miles to the north.  Everything here is on fire.

This is bad. Very bad. Even my county (Montague Co.) is in the tornado watch. I was just reading the text that came out with it and they've upgraded it to a PDS (particularly dangerous situation.) This day might be remembered for a long time..

I believe the same tornado that hit Vilonia trashed a high school, elementary school and part of LRAFB in Jacksonville.  I don't care if we get storms here tonight just no more damn twisters.  Rox and everyone else that's looking to get hit tonight with this crap, stay safe. :salute

:cry :cry :cry The weather in Georgia is a joke! Its bluffs all the time, last time I saw something remotely serious was about 2 years ago during a heavy electrical storm. Tornado's followed after but I was far from home on my bike recording weather conditions and such. Sadly That data was lost earlier this year(misplaced). But when I was 5 my house was nearly leveled by a tornado, whole roof was torn off. No one was hurt and damage was eventually repaired, but Im always hoping for something big to happen down in Georgia.  :devil

I am in the HIGH box.

There have been EAS watches/warnings for the last 3 hours here almost nonstop.  Crazy.

It's eerily quiet here and still.

Lake Hamilton is almost brown and has debris all over the place from the last 2 fronts.

This does not bode well.

Listening to local news stations and looks like we are in for at least 2 more fronts tonight.

Hunker down and stay safe allaire  :salute

We luckily have a nice cinder block & concrete storm shelter underneath the house.  Most people don't have one and most of the younger folks don't even know what one is.
