Great article on some true warriors:
http://www.uproxx.com/feature/2010/05/six-soldiers-who-are-cooler-than-you/
...the only British soldier on record as killing the enemy with a longbow
he’s one of only two people who have received the Navy Cross five times ...the dude was badass. How badass? The first time he saw a flamethrower, he asked, “Where do you put the bayonet?”
Ten German soldiers charged at him, four of whom were killed by his Tommy gun while the other six retreated.
killed at least 505 Soviet soldiers (and possibly up to 542 more) in a period of fewer than 100 days with minimal daylight and temperatures as cold as -40 °C
The story about the bear is awesome, especially what he ate and drank

Great article, thanks for posting.
Can you imagine how hard it would be to use a sniper riles at range with only iron sights? That guy is pro.

the "world war 2" style gun is a ppsh-41 i believe...first issued 1941(?) russia...used all the way up through vietnam...not a bad record for an antique.

Actually saw a picture from Iraq of an American carrying a captured one up a stairwell with his M4 slung across his back. Certainly not standard issue, but would be fun to clear a room with.
