Title: 25th Anniversary of Chernobyl Disaster
Post by: BoilerDown on April 26, 2011, 05:16:11 PM
So I read a comment on another web site that today is the 25th anniversary of the disaster.  I did some googling and apparently its true.  Here's one page I found from my google search, but there are plenty of others with "25 years later" articles as well: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2011/04/chernobyl_disaster_25th_annive.html

I'm a proponent in general of nuclear power generation, but its clear that it must be done with the highest safety precautions.

They are.  Field stripping AK74, how to put gas mask on, running with gas mask on, surviving nuclear blast, fallout shelter designs,  and other crap was part of high school program when i was there.

It horrible how people just ran into that not knowing what they have been fully exposed to. Especially picking up chunks of graphite that held the uranium rods.     :pray

Very intriguing photos. Terrible thing those folks have gone through and still suffer from today.

Look up Ghost Town. Sad song about it.
