HiTech,
Is your kid already getting into things? The BBS seems to have a lot of problems of staying connected lately. :bolt:
-
front page news oakranger...they moved to the new offices...took a while to get the bbs back up.
-
Yeah, I don't get why people would be surprised. It said right on the front page that the forum was going to be down on Thursday. Granted, it did say it would be back up by the afternoon, though I didn't get anything all day long.
I just went and shot down Zeros and Hellcats in my Typhoon to pass the time. The game itself was still running.

Can you two read a joke?
-
a joke starts with a tag line like...this guy goes into a bar carrying a duck...not something that could be misconstrued as missing an announcement. :D
-
I find humor in lots of things. This isn't one, but you can try I suppose.
-
Nope, but I can tell you one thing.
Of all the whine threads and Stupid wishlist requests.
He will realise that dealing with us ( a bunch of plane geeks who decided growing up sucked ) was nothing compared to what is coming... Ive been a cause of this occasion... I am waiting for my turn which undoubtedly will be within the next 15 years or so.
Again, best wishes to the Boss.

That was crypticly posted, Plawranc. :noid I don't know how you caused this situation, but I like the fact you are taking responsibility for it, whatever you said.
I would like to add that it could also be a simple problem that people bookmark the forums and not the homepage. It would be hard to read that news if you automatically skip past it.
I saw people post they couldn't log into the game on the days that any new version goes live as well. It is as if there was some kind of failure of the servers and the front page news was unimportant.
But I still have to agree the original post doesn't come across that well. It read more like the forums shouldn't have been down and it was irritating. It actually was irritating me too, I admit. I wanted to surf the pages and catch up on what people thought of the new game version, but the forum had a good reason to be down.

Got to love it when you unplug a server, move it 12 miles on a car seat, plug it back in and the fans wont even spin up.

Might I suggest keeping the equipment submerged in a tub of nicely chilled Fluorinert? :D

That's what my planes run on. Every time someone tells me to catch up I either reply I'm pedallin' as fast as I can or that I ran out of carrots for the hamsters.

LOL. No surprise there. On Friday I had given a 'user' the ok to move her cpu to another office and when she plugged it in, the computer would not boot up (she couldn't wait for a computer tech to show up, oh the ironies).
