Leaving today for training and then I'll be headed to Afghanistan. Will try to keep in touch on here (not making any promises :P), so don't celebrate me being gone TOO much. :P

haha thanks for the support guys. It's a bum morning so far, but it's getting better. Checked my facebook and a friend of mine posted something on my status and I could have sworn someone threw dust in my eyes because it got a little blurry in here.
"No matter what happens, remember your serving our country, but not only are you serving the country, your protecting your family, your friends, the children who will someday follow in your footsteps, and become great leaders in this world. ...If thats not enough for you. Your serving me, a 15 year old boy that will think of you everyday while your gone. That will support every action you take, and will be here, waiting for your return. Even better, your serving Venessa. The girl that, im sure, you love with all your heart. This is your opportunity to not only protect her from all who wish her harm, but to show her the man that you are.
God Bless you, and stay safe back there, for there are so many here that will celebrate when you get back. Not because we are glad you have returned. But because we are glad you have returned a better, stronger man. Who protected us all, and became a hero.... and just cuz we love you as a friend. :) "

Good luck, and talk to your psychologist if things start getting wacky in your head; really, I mean it, looking tough is not worth hiding a case of PTSD.
Remember:
Friendly fire isn't
Never hide with those of great courage
Once the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend
You can guarantee that your equipment didn't cost Uncle Sam a dime more than it had to

It exists, and it's a large problem for veterans coming back from the Middle Eastern front. Military Medicine found that one man in 16 (6%) had PTSD, and one man in four (27%) suffered from alcohol abuse.
Here is the link to my source:http://ptsd.about.com/od/prevalence/a/IraqWarPTSD.htm (http://ptsd.about.com/od/prevalence/a/IraqWarPTSD.htm)
Many veterans end up thinking that it's 'just a phase', and can end up with life-long psychological damage. It's not worth hiding, and there are those who can help you. Stay sane out there.
