Title: Ports R to EZ to Take
Post by: MAX-107 on May 04, 2011, 08:37:27 AM
So I think we need 2 FHs for float planes like

Japanese: Aichi E13A (Jake), Aichi E16A Zuiun (Paul), Aichi M6A Seiran

German (Luftwaffe): Arado Ar 196, Dornier Do 22, Heinkel He 115

USA: Curtiss SO3C (Seamew), Grumman J2F (Duck), Vought OS2U Kingfisher, Curtiss SOC (Seagull)

So what do yall think.

is it squeaker season already?   :joystick:

demon fox should fly the b5n and ju-87 exclusively for a month...then come tell us how he likes it low and slow...even those 2 aircraft are faster than the pby.

I wonder if any of those aircraft would actually be useful in a low altitude, low E defense role...  I somewhat doubt it.

Well, the addition of the planes you listed aren't going to make taking the port tougher, since almost all of the ones you listed were scout/patrol planes.

If it's a fighter you're looking for to station at ports then the A6M2-N would be a good choice since it was 1) a float plane and 2) a fighter.

D3A has the smallest sustained circle in the game besides WWI and RV-8.

Actually I've only been flying them and I never relized the B5N could be so fun lol.
I landed 5 kills in it yesterday. I also shot down a La5 and a Bf110G.
If you want easy kill just look for knight cruzin on over and I'm sure I'll give you the best B5N fight you ever had :)

And why I'm doing this? To prove that if I'm gonna dish out something I'm gonna take it back 100%
+1 for the PBY-5A  :rock with 4000lb (much better payload then the B5N  :lol )

What? Farm land? Arizona? I live in Florida  :lol but point being yes Gyrene I'm taking you up on your challenge  :salute I will fly the B5N all month and I will prove speed isnt always as important as people think. And if I can handle a B5N successfully then I think a PBY that actually has defensive guns and good payload would be a big step up  :aok
<S>
P.S Gyrene what country you fly for I'll make extra runs on them  :neener:

just checked your stats and 7 kills, 7 deaths in the b5n last month...but :huh  :rofl how did you get a kill credit on the 110 and la5? had to be proxies...   :rofl  :rofl  :rofl

Yes the A6M2-N would be a good fighter for the ports and the Heinkel He 115 torpedo bomber would be good too. It had a forward firing 20mm gun and one 7.92 mm MG in the nose and one 7.92 mm MG in the rear of the cockpit.

I think HTC should add them two.

N1K1 'Rex' would be better at it than the A6M2-N.

That would be cool too. Maby HTC can let us take off the doced CV at the ports.

I've noticed that some ports don't have a pt boat spawn.

I mean....why have docks and boats if you can't spawn them there.

So what do yall think.

I think that instead of having floatplanes we should have a redesign of the port base itself so that every port has at least the facilities of a small airfield.  It just doesn't make sense to have a port, arguably one of the most important bases, unable to defend itself without the carrier group sitting offshore.  Having at least a small airfield along with it (3 fighter hangers, 2 bomber hangers, 1 vh and plenty of AAA) would seem a better option.   Also - a positioning of shore batteries so that they can actually COVER the approaches to a base would be nice as well.
