OK I have a question for you nerds out there (I mean that in the most respectful way possible, since I too consider myself a plane nerd).
I was at the Air and Space museum last week (a kid in a candy store) and saw something on the 262 that made me curious. I took a pic (see below) but with a camera phone so I apologize in advance for the poor resolution.

The image is of what appear to be wooden slats on the bottom side of the wings outboard of the engines. The pic was taken from the front of the aircraft. The entire width of the feature is around a foot and a half. Both wings had the feature as well. Could they be attachment points for ordnance, something for stability, or something else. The black lines seemed to be strips of rubber or something similar. It looked kind of like something could be slid in between the strips.
Have at it folks. Like I said before this is out of curiousity but sometimes things like this could be something cool.

Do a search for "R4M rockets" and all your questions will be answered. :D

Very cool guys! I knew I could count on a quick answer.
Thanks for the information. Looks like a very simple attachment point.
Now why can't we get these in the game? :t

They have been wished for, before

If I remember right, the rockets were on a different 262 variant. Which brings the question, which 262 variants would have a chance of inclusion to the game?

Yup, last I recall.

Because people would whine like no tomorrow if every 262 could take an entire formation of buffs down in less than 5 seconds.
If I were to wager on it, I'd bet on that being one of the future perked loadouts.

If you know how to do it, you can knock down a formation in 5 seconds using pretty much any Luftwaffe bird.

That takes time, skill, and patience. An R4M-armed 262 can meander up, tap a button, and fly away.
