Title: GM Media Event features F4U
Post by: Shuffler on May 10, 2011, 02:48:06 PM
GM had an Official unvailing of the Convertible Camaro this past Saturday. At the Air Museum in Galveston Texas they had 25 convertibles along with 10 of our Club cars. From Galveston they cruised, with police escort, to Kemah and the Boardwalk. There we had another 15 of our Club cars.

It's good to see the old late 60s bantering among chevy, ford, and dodge. The mustangs have been looking good. I can't for the life of me figure what they are trying to do to the rear ends on them now.

i think we can stop being condescending to the dodge guys.

chrysler's not offering anything worthwhile for the dodge guys, so they're kinda left hanging out in the cold.  :devil

I dunno Cap... I wonder how confused the neighbors would be if I kept the stang and bought a Camaro?

You know me.... I like being odd :D

And ya Shuffler I know what you mean.  I looked at the newer body Mustang and love them on the outside but the interior just doesn't 'feel' right to me for some reason.    :headscratch:

Many here know already but my daughter had a 40 year anniversary mustang (gunmetal gray) before she got her camaro (synergy green).

In the pic above... the silver camaro on the left front. it is advertised as the quickest street camaro in the world. Runs in the 9s and is 1015 rwhp. The cyber gray one just behind and to the left is a Hennesey 800. Twin turbo normally runs just over 800 rwhp. There is a youtube video of it with the boost cranked up running 1040 rwhp and just over 1000 tq. The Red Jewel Tint behind and to the left of that is 582 rwhp (whipple supercharged). It is the lowest HP car of the 10 pictured there.

Which is one sharp looking car Shuff in case I haven't mentioned it before :D

I'm seriously tempted to go have a look at the convertible.  Perhaps a low end one to share with Squid till he gets something himself or goes off to basic.

I'm sure squid would not complain. :D

Pulled up next to an SS Camaro at a stoplight the other day in my 09 Mustang GT. Ran thru the gears to the next light with him right next to me. Is there anything better sounding than two American V-8's singing a sweet tune? I dont think so....maybe a Merlin but I will never own one of those.
We both congratulated each other in our fine taste in cars and went on our way.

My Stang and my daughter and her friend.

BRING THE 442 BACK!

BRING THE 442 BACK!

that unfortunatly is part of the problem gm may have created for itself in eliminating brands.

they had quite a good number of performance cars outside of chevy. they themselves really cannot do anything other than the camaro or the corvette for performance right now.

ford mostly stuck with the mustang, and of course the galaxies, fairlanes, falcons, etc back in the 60's. they had the couger, but most of their performance cars were actually ford.

come to think of it.....it would be cool as hell to see a "new" falcon, since the original mustang was based on the old falcon to begin with.........
