One of the problems I am having with this game is fighting against the seemingly non-E-bleeding AC like the Ki-84 and especially the 109K. In particular, they “seem” to be able to pull hard vertical maneuvers to avoid a shot and then zoom back into a fight repeatedly while never losing E.
I say “seem” because this certainly could be a “perception” and not “reality” thing. But without some training assistance, I feel I am doomed to repeat whatever mistakes I am making in fighting these AC. I have read some forum posts on the topic, but can only learn so much by reading, as opposed to actual stick time.
I am hoping I can schedule some TRAINING assistance for this particular issue (and any other issues that might reveal themselves). I feel I still have a lot to learn in AH and would like to do so. Unfortunately, more often than not, I can’t find Trainers online or someone in the DA willing to help. So, my frustration level continues to build.
This is also my third request to try to arrange scheduled training sessions US West Coast time. Both times another trainer contacted me saying they were not free, but would have someone else get in contact. I have not heard back on those first two requests.
I don't know if my being on in evenings US West Coast (Pacific time) is a problem and the trainers are only available in the East...? The earliest I could be on US East time would be 8:30 in the evening. Please PM me if there are training times available US West evenings, especially if you can offer assistance with the specific issue mentioned above.
Third time is a charm, I hope…

I'm transitioning off the Training Staff but happy to try and help out. Alternatively you can try PM-ing either Silat or Morfiend, I don't know what they're schedules look like right now but they are also on the west coast (as am I).
For starters I would suggest filming all your sorties (if you're not already)
ESC (to bring up clipboard) --> Options --> Preferences --> Flight --> Auto Film Sorties
What I think you'll notice is that oftentimes when a plane pulls some sort of hard maneuver but can still close the distance on you is that there is something happening geometrically that can usually explain it. Despite a loss in speed the enemy A/C is cutting the corner and flying a shorter flight path to the same point in space than you are, I'll see if I can find a film in my archive here that shows what I'm talking about.
At the very least if you are filming the flights and see one of these maneuvers that you can't explain there's something we can go back at and look to eliminate a lot of the guess work.
*edit*
First thing that I came across that may show was I was talking about above. The P51 dove on me and had almost twice as much speed as I did in my 38G. Precisely because he was going so much faster than me I was able to make a turn that he could not cut inside of to pull the lead needed to get a shot, but because he stayed in the turn as long as he did (in this example it's the bottom half of a loop, but a turn none-the-less) I'm able to roll over the top and get a hit as he pulls up in front of me. If you advance the film he pulls away from and is soon out of range, but because of the geometry in this picture I'm able to get a shot before he does.

Soulyss Sir,
Thanks for your reply. I have PM'd as suggested.
The example you provided, while appreciated, is not exactly the problem I am having. I do understand how a well-timed barrell roll defense can create a brief shot for the defender as the attacker pulls back up (especially against such a steeply/agressively attacking con as in your example).
I'm dealing with situations somewhat closer in E-state where the con simply pulls up hard, often with little or no horizontal/roll element to it. I think it may be more an issue of not getting a guns solution on my part, while also not being able to match the move. In certain AC the move simply cannot be matched and the con seems to lose little or no energy in the process. In other sims I have flown, such vertical moves were more easily matched or dealt with, and usually resulted in death to the defender pulling up so hard. I learned that pulling up with someone on your six was bad. But not so much in this game. And it confounds me.
I don't think I have a film to provide at this time. Will post one later if I do.
Thanks again for your input.

FYI: Morfiend PM'd me back. He's not on the West Coast, he's East Coast.
Hello, west coast trainers... anyone?

Send me a PM of a few days and times (your local time) you're available over the next week, Kingpin. We'll work something out.

I'm going to meet up next week with Kingpin,we worked a time and day that works for both of us.
