Title: AHFilm Engine sounds
Post by: LCADolby on May 13, 2011, 06:47:30 PM
I've been using AHfilm to try and create a new mooovie, but for some strange reason all the engine sounds have gone MIA, but I can hear them fine InGame.
Not sure how to fix this, anyone had this problem and been able to fix it?

IMHO, the film view viewer, and Mission Editor should be re-vamped..
Poor quality...

Dolby if you would, get Sony Vegas and you can put the sounds into the video :D

IMO ahfilm viewer and mission editor is a bugged out system. Needs lots of work or just a whole new one

I read on one post that if you use the default sounds (remove the custom sounds folder while using the film viewer) that they will work in the film viewer.

It's apparently true. I noticed that most sounds in the viewer disappeared a few patches ago. But then I run sounds from other packs in place of the default ones for most everything. Last week I drew the new A6M3 in FSO. I hadn't added alternate sounds for that bird yet and when I watched the films from that frame I had sounds for my plane.

I've been missing engine sounds except for planes I haven't replaced the default sounds yet.

Yup same here since a couple of patches. Gunfire/hits and only a few bird's engines ( like the Brewster (might vary on sound pack used)) still make sounds. Its a minor issue compared to not being able to rewind films on another bug thread though.

Just started working again, after I installed the optional patch that changed the Splash Screen to the P-39 one.

A fix for the rewind bug is to press pause, wait a few seconds then press rewind. Works for me.

I notice when I made films into separate folders for ex. I made 1 for 1v1's and everytime the film stops a second early and it crashes... :furious

From the Patch 3 notes

Fixed an issue in the film viewer that caused engine sounds not to initialize properly.

Glad that's back. Films were a lot less dramatic without the engine sound. Thanks guys :salute

Thanks HTC!! The engine start is still sounding like landing gear but I can live with that.
I love having my sounds back.
