Back in the early 80s, I was cabling a defense contractor in washington DC with mainframes that looked like the one in "wargames".

I stepped on the power cable between the huge UPS and the mainframe and it pulled the plug at an angle enough to cause one of the conductors to momentarily lose contact but not pull the plug out.

I heard a "spinning down" kind of sound, pushed it back in flush, left the room and walked down the super long hallway to see people coming out of thier offices like moles squinting into the sunlight.
