They should offer this as a service that sends you a new one every two months for like $1k a year, you just pick a theme.  IE: WWII tanks and planes.

Maybe something of patriotic or symbolic value to your city council?  Then if that flys, invest in the blinding LEDs and deafening loudspeaker settup to compliment it.  :devil

If you guys think these are eyesores, I should take some pictures of the streetage this loon neighbor of ours decided to start landscaping however hideously and with as much disregard for the same city ordinances professionals and non-professionals have to comply with as he pleased.  He got done with about 3 corners of the entire intersection before chumming up his buddy in the city council, who is such a bottom-feeding sleazeball in the city here, to give him an exemption from the city of LA when he (and the LA city council) doesn't even have jurisdiction over the scenic corridor and that commission.  (Most recently this councilman, working in hand with the largest mall owner of the area, Westfield, to buy an entire major city block of extremely prime realestate that occupies the entire space between two of their largest malls in Warner Center, and rezoning it, promising under pressure of local HOAs outdoor shopping outlets and lots of greenspace and common park areas to help facilitate a high volume of pedestrian and bicycle traffic.  A couple weeks after pulling that off, he middle-manned the VP of Costco wholesalers into leasing the whole lot from westfield to turn it into a super-mega Costco, with a super-size Costco gas station, and everything else on the block to be paved as a solid concrete parking lot... how he's still in office I have no idea, but I don't vote for him.).

Where's your neighbor Clerick when I need someone that will invest days of time and effort to fix an eyesore spanning the distance of 24-houses?

"eyesore"

lame, its people who complain about an "eyesore" that have ruined this world.

they are so high and mighty they think they have the right to dictate others lives.

Don't get me wrong, if it was on their house and property I couldn't give less of a flying umpty, it's their right and freedom of expression, but this guy is doing something I see as distasteful (and that's to each their own, so I know others might like it) to a large spance of area that includes private and public lands and setting the precident that anyone can do anything they want to their front yard, your front yard, or any land that has street frontage that isn't paved over by the city or state DOT (but you see, he tried that, and got a very nasty fine from the city (sidewalks) and state DOT (one small section of street paving he ripped up is a part of CA highway 27's roadway) for vandalizing city and state property.).

My HOA would be chasing me down the prefectly manicured lawns and de-debrisless street(s) with lit torches, pitchforks and shovels chanting, "He's a witch!" .....And then they would fine me.

Also found the "style-your-door" tab and site.  There is a good one under the "other" tab that I can't post here... and, it's washable.  :bolt:

This guy is a first class DB!  I have four kids, ages 6 to 14, and once in a while they will leave their bikes in the front yard.  That'll be it, just a clean, manicured lawn and four bikes, and I will get a letter from the city with a picture and the code that I have violated.

Left garbage out Friday, went camping and came back Sunday morning.... Letter
Garage door left open half the day.... Letter
Van got a flat tire (repaired after two days)... Letter
Christmas lights too bright (35,000 micro bulbs programmed to shut off at 10pm).... Letter
Replaced intake manifold gasket on same van in my driveway (job took an hour total)... Letter AND picture (with me in it) explaining how it's against city code to have a disabled vehicle in my driveway.

I'm going to guess that, no matter how hilarious I think this might be, the Obergruppenführer of my New York Ave wouldn't approve.

I used to have to explain to my employers why I had a misdemeanor conviction in my record.  it seems I was gone for 6 weeks house was empty and I got charged with a health code of failing to clean my pool.  was convicted before I even saw the charge.  paid the 100 bucks fine when I returned and was on probation for 2 years.  I sold the house soon after that.  I am so glad I had great neighbors.

The city guy who was coming to record all of this was a complete tool.  I asked him one day when i saw him if he was recording all of the violations he drove past on his way to my house...

City Employee:  "No. Nobody has reported those people."

Me: "So? You have seen them with your own eyes.  If this stuff is such a big deal then nip the problem in the bud."

CE: "Obviously it isn't an issue or I would hear about it."

Me: "If the city council took the time to make rules about this crap it must be a HUGE deal and you should be proactive.  Besides, I just told you about them, so you HAVE heard about them."

CE: "Whatever, I have work to do."

I spent weeks photographing and documenting EVERY violation I could find within walking distance of my house and sending them to this guy.  I'm sure I sent him almost a hundred complaints.  Since the first letter is a warning I wasn't worried about anyone getting in any real trouble.  I haven't had an issue since :D
