Been wondering this for awhile, but how helpful is the instructions in some of the planes cocpits?
like in the b24, it has a sign in the cocpit that says something like "do not excede 275mph under [insert wieght] amount of weight"
and the p38 has some signs in its cocpit aswell.
can these signs actually be helpful in aceshigh? (like the b24 saying dont go above 275mph)
or are they merely put in there as a novelty&to add on to the realistic feel of the cocpit?

they're simulating what was really in the aircraft. golfer of one of the other cfi's, or commercial pilots in here will tell ya.......planes are often placarded with limits such as these.

i know this, but i mean are they actually HELPFUL to pay attenchian to in the world of aceshigh? or does the AH flight mechanics throw out them actually having meaning to them, and instead there only in there for authentication?

some of the signs say "alt f4 for nukes" and something like "whine meter".

The beauty of AH is you can be a test pilot without actually getting yourself killed. Why not experiment with speeds and loads to see when you can either break the aircraft or get into a controls compression situation like a lawn dart. Then you can decide if the information is useful to you.
The meaning in real life is for safety - One thing that goes out the window pretty quick in the days of WWII is safety in combat situations! You push the envelope when you have to.

This attribute is also a determent in the game though. The end result being we have people dive bombing heavy bombers when something like only 00.01% of all flights ever actually did this regardless of combat situations in WWII.

"Expendable youth
Fighting for possesion.
Having control
Our principle obsession.
Rivalry and retribution.
Death! The only solution."

Placards are not near as bas as now. Just go look at a ladder.
Now placards are to thwart suits from stupid people. Everyone remembers the "hot coffee" suit. lol
-
attenchian
:aok
-
have you read the one in the upper left on the C47. Something to the effect of "We're putting words here because we have to put something...."
:lol
-
Look down right at your closed clipboard in the C47. White sign says something like "While You Are Looking Down Here.......something something something.". Can anyone decipher that one in the C47?
-
theres one on the b26s bombsite that says "Waffle is your mother" or something along those lines i think.
-
As you can see, everyone has an answer. Just not one for your question :rofl

not to get off topic. but mcdonalds did sell boiling hot coffee, not just plain hot coffee. and it did make them change the temp of their coffee.

Like the one hidden under the instrument panel of the 163 that says "Unlawful for occupation by more than 37 people"? :D

On back of G14 seat, where yellow/brown streaks are, a sign in German says
Please clean up after yourself, someone else has to sit here.
