1. A '.climb to xxxxft' dot command. Roll your ride, set it on course, enter the height you want the plane to switch from autoclimb to level flight, then go do what you gotta do, grab a beer you know. eg - .climbto 15000
2. enable mouse scroll zoom on clipboard map. using insert/del is annoying
3. navigation tools for clipboard map. simple marker to mark positions/cons on map to work out their course/speed and a ruler tool to measure distances/plot routes.
all three easy to impliment and i feel they'd be a welcome addition.

It's always hard to figure out the distance and how far you are. The only issue is I'm not sure an average fighter had navigators that used the tools. Also, on #1 what angle would use to climb. But, overall it is a good idea.

no 1 would literally just swap you from autoclimb to level autopilot at the specified height
all pilots had to be able to navigate...

Since I'm not a programmer, I generally don't make any assumptions as to what is "easy to implement" though.

glad you like the navigation idea. with regards to the climb to idea, your fly your own plane comment is a little silly, seeing as we have autoclimb, which everyone uses... all i'm asking for is a dot command to determine when the autopilot switches from climb to level. it would be very helpful if you want to roll your ride then go afk for 10 mins to do something useful while you climb to alt. if you come back later than anticipated, you won't find yourself at 35k in the middle of nowhere, you'll find yourself level with speed ready to fight at your destination. i can't see why a feature that would minimise tedium would be a bad idea?

Too bad this isn't real life, people have things to do around the house on their days/time off. I would love to type .climbto 23000 and leave it for 25 minutes to go wash the dishes. If I get jumped and killed on the climb out well then my fault and some guy got an easy three kills. This is a game not real life.
And who really cares about if its easy??? These guys program all day, and I have taken 5 courses with C++ and Java, I will tell you it is freakin enjoyable to program some complicated code every once in awhile. These guys get paid to do it and I have no clue as to why it has to be easy.

Not to hijack thread, but maybe you'd know if I can delete all these multiple 'Microsoft C++' programs. I have some dated back to 2005. Just don't know if I need them all.

Fair enough, I for one definitely do my share of afk climb outs. The distinction I draw between something like auto climb and auto leveling at a given altitude is that our current set of auto commands seem within the realm of possibility when it comes to trim control. For me, that's where the line is. If given this auto-level at a given altitude, what's the next step? An auto-rtb? An auto-land? Those are both fairly simple flight tasks that would save you time by having the computer do it for ya, but don't you feel like those would cross the line?

Since I live mostly above 30k, I just climb at an angle that's quite a bit faster airspeed than best climb and it will mush along once it reaches it's max height.
It also gets to where I want to go faster.

it's much better to have a command that does that for you at a specified height. it would not only be useful for bomber pilots so they can step away from the game to do odd jobs, but for fighters who want to go afk on climbout or whatever. I think it's a really good idea, and I hope HTC sees this thread.

the current auto pilot controls are good enough...a good number of the bombers, especially the heavies, don't climb faster than 1000ft/min with a full load...and by the time they reach 25k, they're down to 7-800ft/min climb rate...if that's not enough time to go afk and do what you need, should have stayed in tower...and if you plan to fly a bomber at 5000 ft you were figuring on not making back to base anyway.
for fighters, level out elevator trim, set the desired climb rate with the stick, hit shift+x then walk away...it's just as useful as having your plane auto level out at a specified alt...if you're afk you won't notice the red guy that ends up shooting you down regardless of what method you use.
navigational tool on the clipboard...could be useful for some...not sure how useful it would be to track cons on the dar with the refresh rates...and the way the map grids are laid out, navigation can be very easy now...each grid is 25 miles across...each sub grid is 8.33 miles across...plenty of markings on the maps.
having the ability to use the mouse for zooming in/out on the map is the best idea of the bunch...the keyboard can be a real pain sometimes, especially when you hit the wrong key.

1. -1, the autopilot we have already is way to advanced for that time. If anything we should remove it's ability to keep speed and give it the ability to keep the rate of climb (until you stall).
2. I see no reason why not.
