Title: HTC: Skin swap request

I just realized the rather ugly (by today's standards) P-40E was reskinned. By Fester, no less! The default skin is rather bright and gaudy, as back in those days the graphics were different. It was re-skinned as a custom skin slot, but is the same from the nose art to the tail code. The difference lies in the quality of that skin and the resolution (default is still 256x256! Custom one is 1024!)

Granted the P-40 needs a re-do as an entire model, but for now it wouldn't hurt to swap this:

And it would allow another skin to be rotated in (I know of one other in queue I'd like to fly with).

I know there was another slew of requests not too far back for similar requests on other planes, but they were scattered. I decided to create a new post.

Consider this a skin request to HTC.

I don't mind that being done but I don't see a lot of skinners doing it since all new ones will go in the scrap file on the eventual remodel.

It's already full. I've got one in the queue waiting rotation. One was rotated out way back for my existing P-40 skin. That means there's at least 2 others. Maybe more. No need to make the skins, they're just waiting for a free spot.

I'd want to know more about this before I +1 it - for example, if making Fester's beauty the default skin would require shrinking it to 256x256, I'm agin' it.
It wreck a finely detailed skin.

But, you could free up a slot by making a different custom P-40E skin the default - none of the others are as good as any of Festers, therefore not as much quality would be sacrificed by making one of them the default, if you take my meaning.

When it's remodeled, none of the current skins will work. It will be given a new default, most likely all on a single .BMP file like most 3rd gen skins in this game.
