We would very much like it if whatever players and squads could make it to come into the SEA this Friday at 11:00 PM EST for a test of the Karelia terrain. There should be no problems with it and we would like to just open up the fields and do some fighter and bomber runs on a few targets to see. Its not entirely cleared for "prime time" but there is a very good chance it is usable in its current form.
If for some reason there is a major issue we will be using the Ardennes terrain as a backup for Mannerheim Cross. Either way it will be going ahead.
Thank you.

Any particular plane sets or is everything available?

Sorry for the slow reply. End of the school year crunch for me and I have very little free time.
I did block out tomorrow evening for this and will be in the SEA setting it up for the usual start time of 11 PM Eastern. If things go well I will be open a few minutes before that.
I will shoot out an e-mail reminder to the FSO squads tonight so hopefully we will have a good turn out and see if we can spot any problems for the FSO next month. :)
Squads can take any side or AC they want. Just fly and have fun. Try to keep the sides balanced. I will post in the MOTD some targets for both sides, but nothing more.
If anyone sees or experiences any issues that are out of the ordinary then post them in this thread. That may help Squire avoid any hidden terrain issues we don't know about. :)

Just a heads up. If a few guys can bomb Leningrad feel free. There is nobody there we like. ;)

Just more proof Marines have to do everything the hard way. Including going ugly early.
Pull that 8 pointed utility cap up off your nose long enough to get a good look at some prime Soviet threats. :D

awesome map...lots of detail...especially like the airfields...take off from a revetment, any direction, very cool. but, it's a framerate killer...especially 5,000 feet and below.
i had to turn off detailed terrain to level my framerates out...no idea what it's going to do in big furball.
oh, and i dont know if anyone else had it happen but...map download went good...got into the arena and just before getting to the tower...crashed. once i restarted there were no other issues other than the frame rates.
-
Didn't have the crash issue. Agree it's a beautiful map. I also had a lot of FR stutters when going low into furball areas.
-
I dont have the beefiest of a rig but I experienced quite low FPS too. A good 20-25 less than usual. I achieved 2-3 FPS better by turning detailed water and terrain ON.
-
Test went well from what I can tell. No major issues unless someone has not reported them yet.
I had some frame issues only once, but it corrected itself after a few moments.
Could be prior to the May FSO squadies should be warned that if the have a older rig to turn down the eye candy just in case they have a frame rate issue. We had about 50 on last night and maybe 20 in a furball or two, but FSO could have 3 times that.
-
The Leningrad area will be the worst for FR issues but the target areas are spread out a lot more than that. Leningrad might be just one objective per frame out of 8. I will try to keep the action spread out.
