I'm using a Saitek X-52 Pro and am getting a slight nose bounce when I pull back on the stick. Does it seem weird that it only bounces when I pull back and not push forward? I have adjusted the damping, scaling, ect, but nothing seems to help much.

sounds like a spike...could try a cleaning.

or do the Mod thing .

Yes the magnet mod may help.
There is a video for it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfJNiHmEszk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfJNiHmEszk)
Keep in mind this uses hall sensors for the stick's X and Y axes and not pots, and therefore not susceptible to 'spiking'.

Thanks Tigger for the link .
I was thinking I had the link but could not find it . Got it now .
I need to do the magnet mod myself .

Branch,
the X52 only has 1 potentiometer in the JS,this is for rudder inputs,if your using the twist for rudder I'd suspect that as you pull back on the stick your giving unwanted inputs to the rudder.
You can check this pretty simple, just strafe the ground with nose mounted guns and watch the pattern,if it's straight then there's no rudder inputs but if it's serpentine then you know the rudder is affecting the nose...IE nose bounce.
I had this same problem with my X52,solved it with a set of pedals and disabling the twist rudder. Never had an issue since and thats about 6 or 7 years now.
hope this helps, let us know if and when you solve the issue.......

That sounds about right. I dont have the money to buy a set of pedals so is there any other way to limit the rudder inputs?

Actually yes Branch you can dumb down the rudder somewhat and this might help.
first select rudder axis and increase deadpan, this will increase the center of the rudder axis. Think of it as a circle and it's 1/2 inch diam. adding deadpan will increase the size and make help illimnate some of the bounce.
Then you can add scaling, oer enable it,and move the sliders down, you want the first 3 or 4 sliders on the right side set low, this will help with "intital movement" or the first few degrees of rotation, without hampering the rudder itself.
Finally you can increase the dampening to the rudder axis, this will effect the overall rudder movement so leave it to last and as a final resort.
So with alittle work and trial you should be able to dial out most if not all of the nose bounce but beware the pot in the X52 will fail or start to spike at some point so put some pennies away and save for pedals, you'll wonder how you flew without them........ :aok
hope that helps, look me up in the TA and I'll try to help you out if you need it.

Interesting link, thanks for sharing. I don't have a spike problem, but the same guy has a video showing how to stiffen up the stick, which is something I have wanted to do since the day I unpacked my X52.

I resolved my X-52 nose spike bounce (which bounces down when pushing on stick), by doing the following EACH TIME online you first load Aces High and Enter an arena. You only have to do this once when online in an arena.
1) After logging into an arena, bring up clipboard
2) Select 'Options', then 'Controls', then 'Map Controllers'
3) Click on the box labeled 'Advanced', then click on the Y Axis
4) With the left side clipboard (blue columns), move your stick through its full range of motion, Push and Pull a few times.
5) Then click 'OK' and close the clipboard.
6) No more nose bounce.
After hours of playing with Aces High and the calibration software, this is the only method that works for me to rid that ugly nose spike. Good luck!
