OK, I have a AMD XP 3000 system on a Asus A7N8X Deluxe MB running windows XP SP3 with all the latest updates. Last night I updated the X52 to the newest software. Well that messed my the Saitek profiles I have. I couldn't get the X52 stick to work. I uninstalled the software, did a search and deleted everything that had Saitek on it. I rebooted and installed the older version I had. Can't remember the version, just that I downloaded it in 2006 and have used it since til now. The problem I am having now is that My profiles I had saved, when I tried to install them, I started getting a ".Dat does not contain a profile for this device. The device has not been profiled." I even tried making new profiles and still got the same ".dat does not contain a profile for this device". So I tried to program it in the game. Everything work but the throttle.
So now I am asking for help on this. This weekend is a 3 day weekend and I can't fly. :bhead :bhead :bhead
Thanks

I do believe the file you are looking for is called stickdef ... delete that file then when you reup it should automatically reinstall that file. The only down side is you have to re set your profiles.

If you can see the throttle axis make sure you are setting it as Throttle 1 in Mode 1 for aircraft. If you did it in mode 2 it would not work in aircraft.
Do you actually see the throttle axis at all?

Yes, I can see the throttle axis numbers move, but not sure how to go about setting it as Throttle 1

Double click the axis and the available analog options should come up. You may need to select a different list or scroll to see throttle 1 but then when you select it click OK.
If that does not work say so.

Blagard, thanks. That worked, I set it as Throttle 1 and checked ok, and it worked fine. I'll just set everything up in the game and not even mess with the X52 software. Now when I do get everything set up. Will it stay each time I log in????
Thanks

Yes it will, it will save any changes you later make as well,
You may have done it already but calibrating the axis's is also a good idea
If you get rid of your Saitek software again, I suggest you do a registry clean which is what I suspect may have caused the earlier problem. Only then would I reinstall
