NEVAR! :old:
there can be only 1 way ME VS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I16s seem more like target drones then anything else to me. Brewsters, however, seem to have been packed full of UFO technology recovered at Roswell a couple decades prior to the better known "weather balloon" event. :bolt:

I would be very VERY impressed to see a P51 "dogfight" an I16. The only thing that pops into my mind is a horse tail swatting at a fly.

The Ishak was groundbreaking, but time caught up with it, making it a difficult bird to fly against most in this game. Quite a few planes out-perform it while turning about as well, even in EW. Most people have to carry the SHVAKs to be effective, and that load out plus 100% fuel (about 15 minutes in the MA, correct?) gives the I-16 a weight of 4330 pounds, carried by 156 square feet of wing, resulting in a wing loading of 27.75 pounds per square foot. Taking the lightest 3 gun package reduces this somewhat to 26.76 pounds, but getting kills with these guns is difficult. This compares to 28.5 pounds per foot for a HurricaneIIC at the 100% fuel, which loading gives the Hawker a lot more range. A SpitV at 100% has a wing loading of 27.5 lbs.
The I-16's horsepower to weight ratio is a very good .21 hp per pound, but judging by the climb rate chart, the two blade prop must not harness this power very efficiently.
So my salute to you for taking it up and making it work. It is a true handicap plane in most MA situations.

The i16 is a great plane when you know what you are doing and even if the people exploit the i16 climbing defect you can still win cause it comes outa stalls and can fall right on the six of an enemy plane <3 i16

The only reason I do not fly the I16 as much as I would like to is its miserable range under FB 2.0. It's really a FUN ride, and I do enjoy it particularly flying it in furballs resulting from CV attacks :airplane:

This is one of my favorite pics of the I16.

And so the point is what? Everyone should fly Spit XVI's?
I've been flying the P-40B lately and I think I'm falling in love with an American plane for the first time.

I fly it when the base is being vultched. As soon as it takes off it will turn slow & tight, IMO, & the cannons are good for close shots on vultures unaware. :airplane:

MY YB-40 WILL OUTTURN AND OUTSHOOT YOUR puny little I-16. :devil
