Simple really. Instead of having to hit a button multiple times to raise all notches of flaps, about one that you hit once and it starts retracting all notches? Equivalent to slapping the flap handle all the way back to the raised position?

What about the ability to map the flaps to an analog control? I like the idea of not having to keep tapping, but knowing the aircraft allows you to just quickly tap the number of notches you can get at a given IAS and they'll keep deploying.
EDIT: Ah, but you were talking about how cumbersome it was to raise the flaps all the way. lol, yeah, I agree.

doesnt it already do that? i have no idea how it works with flaps, but i know with gear, you cant raise them above i think it is 175 or 200 IAS? i tried it with flaps the other day, hit the key 3 times, it went down 3 notches. correct me if im wrong.

That's what I said. Perhaps I should've worded it differently and not made it sound like a suggestion.

I love this idea - I'd like to be able to kick off the flaps all at once, or be able to limit to one notch when I am at the edge of the envelope. Kicking the key all the time right at the edge of the envelope can sometimes get you more flaps than you wanted.
+1 for analog flap control!

You guys got what you wished for!

This will be a good & realistic thing for AH.

So in real life you could skip all the other flap positions on the lever and go all the way to full?

Have you ever said +1 to a wish :D

That's a good sign when HiTech says +1 :aok

As long as it still takes the normal time for them to cycle down and up, I don't see a problem with it.

I'm just saying, in real life you didn't skip everything in the middle and end up at the end.
There would also be the speed issue. Hit the "full dump" button but you're going to fast....

Throw in a "retract all flaps" function as well and I'll be a happy cartoon warrior.

I would simply add 2 functions I.E. Max Down, and Complete retract. Just like you have Throttle Inc,dec and Full throttle, 0 throttle.

On most planes. Just need to make sure that your speed is low enough, as most real planes will still lower the flaps and damage them if your moving too fast unlike AH.
