Clear sky this evening and T's tomorrow. Gonna kill the party I'm going to, lol. Weather has been extremely unusual lately in The Bay.
-
it's supposed to be 91 tomorrow, and the rest of the week, mid to lower 80's, with one day in the upper 70's.
and guess what? they've issued a severe heat warning for tomorrow. :bhead when the hell did friggin 91 become severe heat??? :headscratch:
-
It got up to 108 here on Friday. It was almost too hot to be at the lake.....almost.

at that temp, it would be over 120 inside my shop.
-
That sounds about right. I used to work in a machine shop before I moved to college, it got up to ~120 in places inside frequently.
-
It got to 94 here in West Virginia on the 31st. Supposed to be high 80s the rest of the week.
-
99 here in Alabama today with humidity in the upper reaches of the scale as well. Heat indexes are up in the triple digits already and when I am training for my lacrosse referee gig its typically over 110 on the sports turf. That stuff will wipe you out.

Central valley always has and always will have lots of June-gloom.

any smog yet?
Always. But seriously, it hasn't been as bad the last couple years since they mandated all public school buses have to comply to a pollution standard and have seriously cracked down on dust pollution from job sites.

Currently we're getting some nice relatively mild spring weather, it hasn't been an early start to summer, yet. So we've been getting steady streams of days mixed with clouds or clear skies, weather in the 80s most days, and mild winds whenever we have them (either coming/going offshore, so some cool breezy days, and some very comfy breezy ones). It's been overall a great winter and spring for us, the reservoirs are about full, and the mild weather hasn't caused the snow to melt much yet. It's shaping up to be a great summer in the mountains and for water supplies, short of a massive and unusually warm storm front comes rolling through that will flash-melt most of the snow still on the mountains, then we might have to open up some spillways and flush the excess away rather than utilizing it as a steady runoff to keep the reservoirs nice and full through the summer. Probably a good year to plan a summer vacation out here, I don't think (*knocks on wood*) it'll be outrageously hot.

Well it's due to hit 75 here in the next few days. That's as good as it gets really in this slightly soggy country. May was wet and windy. In my job as a skydive pilot, I only flew five hours in May, all in one day, compared to 70 hours in April. June is looking good already, due to drop tandems for the next five days. Looks as if the weather will hold for all of them. Big payday on Tuesday!

"low 70's early in the week then rises up to the mid 80's"
should be nice all week for me :D
-
98 at the range today, i'm burnt! haha its not going to get below 90 for awhile. :cry

Ireland - Skydiving Pilot
^
There's your problem. :D Better weather for it over here, lots of space and country, but probabley a lot more competition for that type of work out here too. Skydiving in Ireland sounds like a real niche, in more than one way.
-
It's really niche, I'm the only full time skydive pilot in Ireland. Yep, I have the whole thing wrapped up. I'm it! All the others are part time or unpaid. I probably wouldn't even get a job in the US!
