Title: Mic is working fine but wont go through the game?
Post by: redman555 on June 01, 2011, 04:41:58 PM
So I tested the mic and its working 100% fine. Yet in game its not. I have the right button, all the settings are fine. Why wont it work in game?  Also, when I turn the mic volume up in game and hit apply, then ok. And I go back into the mic settings, it resets the mic volume to 50%?

Ok so when I was messing with the settings I noticed this

under Microphone nothing is there? Does that mean I need a driver update maybe?

Lol naw, its not working, Squadies are saying they cant hear me and I noticed after about an hour of playing that no one could hear me lol.  Ive checked all settings ingame and out of game, and I am 100% positive the mic is working.

It may well work out of the game, but the sliders are to control the levels for the devices selected in the main part of the clipboard. It would appear you have not selected any device for Mic input - The field is blank. Certainly on my PC the field is populated by reference to my onboard sound chip.

What do you use for sound on your PC the onboard chip or a sound card?

Oh dear - Mine has Realtec HD Audio Input listed in the field.
I am no expert, but it seems as though AH has not detected your sound device so far as microphone use is concerned. I would first of all check the Voice settings under preferences. Maybe some of the boxes there need checking! (Voice is a seperate clipboard display)

EDIT:
Also have a look here http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/radio/radio.htm#voice (http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/radio/radio.htm#voice)

I would enable the mic boost and crank it right up! and try again.

The "Wave in" check box on the trainers page is no longer on the clipboard (Well not on mine or yours)!

If your headset works out of game I would think it is OK.
If still no joy, I would contact tech support to find out if the device for Microphone should be shown in the sound clipboard and how to get it in, if it's not there!

If the mic works in windows when you test it, it should work in AH.
Personally I would go back into windows and double check the microphone is OK and set for recording. Then load AH again. If still no luck contact their tech support, or wait and see if someone with a solution can post. By all means check for undated drivers as well.
